A foreign aircraft was intercepted by the Israeli military on Sunday evening after invading Israeli airspace from Syria, the IDF said on Sunday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

IDF helicopters<\/a>\u00a0and fighter jets shot down the aircraft, which was being tracked by the Israeli Air Force before being gunned down.<\/span><\/p>\n

The craft did not pose a threat<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Israeli media reported that the craft was shot down in an empty area and that no warnings were activated as per policy, as the situation did not\u00a0pose a danger<\/a>\u00a0at any stage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The IDF is currently investigating the specifics of the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Upper Galilee<\/a>\u00a0Council was updated on the situation and assured that there are no other abnormalities in Israel’s northern skies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Explosions heard near Mezzah airport in Syrian capital<\/strong><\/h5>\n

A car bomb caused the large blasts heard in the Mezzah suburb area near the Syrian capital Damascus, Syrian state media said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Police sources quoted by state media said there were no injuries from the improvised explosive device (IED). Residents said the large blasts were heard around the Mezzah military airport.<\/span><\/p>\n
