An estimated 200,000 supporters of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu\u2019s judicial reform plans converged on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening for the \u201cMarch of the Million\u201d mega-rally, organizers said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tens of thousands more were on their way as speakers prepared to address the multitude.<\/span><\/p>\n

The massive demonstration kicked off as parliament advanced a much-debated bill to limit the Supreme Court\u2019s use of the so-called\u00a0reasonableness<\/a>\u00a0standard. The legislation would bar \u201creasonableness\u201d as a justification for judges to reverse decisions made by the Cabinet, ministers and \u201cother elected officials as set by law.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOn the eve of the conclusion of the legislative proceedings [to cancel the]\u00a0reasonableness<\/a>\u00a0ground, the entire national camp will come to Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv,\u201d right-wing organizers announced last week. \u201cStand alongside the heads of the national camp and the Knesset members of the coalition and tell them: The nation is with you! Complete the legislation! Sixty-four [Knesset] mandates are not second-class citizens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
