Credit: IDF.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Israeli forces seized cash and financial documents from an underground compound in Khan Yunis showing direct Iranian financial support for Hamas, the Israel Defense Forces disclosed on Tuesday night.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWe found official documents from 2020 detailing the funds transferred by Iran to Hamas between the years 2014 and 2020 and to [Hamas leader in Gaza Yahyah] Sinwar. More than $150 million were transferred from Iran to Hamas,\u201d said IDF Spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The intelligence indicated a \u201cdirect connection from Iran to Hamas\u2014and more so to Yahya Sinwar,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The IDF released photos of envelopes of U.S. dollars, Israeli shekels and Jordanian dinars intended for Sinwar, who masterminded the Oct. 7 massacre.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"content\" class=\"content-alignment\">\n<div id=\"watch-description\" class=\"yt-uix-button-panel\">\n<div id=\"watch-description-text\" style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Press Briefing by IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, February 6th, 2024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KKFEDKDxSyg\" width=\"680\" height=\"400\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cIn the same subterranean space, we also found a safe with banknotes and bags containing more than 20 million shekels in cash. These amounts join tens of millions of shekels we located during the war in Hamas tunnels,\u201d said Hagari.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThis is a recurring phenomenon\u2014large sums of cash, kept in organized compounds underground for the personal use of senior Hamas officials. Hamas leaders invested the money in their personal survival and that of their families,\u201d he added. \u201cThis is another example of how Iran exports terror across the Middle East. The terror that Iran exports and produces is a global problem.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.jns.org\/uploads\/2024\/02\/cash-e1707291726479-1320x880.jpg\" width=\"100%\" \/><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Envelopes containing 80,000 shekels ($21,900) and 12,000 Jordanian dinars ($16,200) for Yahya Sinwar, among the envelopes of money and records of Iranian financial transfers found in Khan Yunis. Credit: IDF Spokesperson.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Hagari said the intelligence would be shared with international partners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Cash confiscated from Gaza terror groups such as Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad is transferred to the Israeli Defense Ministry\u2019s finance division, where it is counted and then deposited in Israeli state coffers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">On Wednesday, the IDF said troops from the Paratroopers Brigade had killed dozens of terrorists in Khan Yunis over the past 24 hours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In parallel, IDF troops operating in western Khan Yunis encountered three armed terrorists who launched anti-tank missiles at them. The troops killed the terrorists along with several others in close-quarters combat. Soldiers also conducted targeted raids on a terror compound, killing a number of terrorists and locating weapons and tunnel shafts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Also on Wednesday, the Binyamin Regional Council confirmed reports that a soldier had died from a\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jns.org\/idf-reservist-rushed-experimental-drug-after-fungal-infection-in-gaza\/\">fungal infection<\/a>\u00a0contracted after being seriously wounded in Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The soldier was identified as Staff Sgt. (res.)
