The Israeli Embassy in the Netherlands will be filing a formal complaint with Dutch authorities after two Israeli citizens, including a former Hamas hostage, were mistreated by a security officer at Amsterdam\u2019s Schiphol Airport, local media reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Israel\u2019s\u00a0Ynet<\/em>\u00a0news outlet, the two women were attempting to board an El Al flight back to Tel Aviv on Friday when the officer, reportedly of Pakistani origin, approached them in an aggressive way.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHe placed them in front of dozens of waiting passengers, deliberately humiliated them by loudly accusing them of fraud and ordering their arrest. He also loudly identified them as Israelis,\u201d the outlet wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was evident that he saw the Israeli passport and got ticked off,\u201d said the Dutch-Israeli woman accompanying the released hostage, adding that \u201che had sadism in his eyes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sources at the airport said the Muslim officer had previously faced complaints for harassing Israelis passing through Schiphol, according to\u00a0Ynet<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

A spokesman for Israeli Ambassador Modi Ephraim told the Dutch\u00a0De Telegraaf<\/em>\u00a0daily on Monday that the two women were only allowed to board their flight after the embassy intervened.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey had all the necessary documents, yet he detained them and humiliated them in front of many people,\u201d he said. \u201cThis is especially painful considering all the trauma the abductee has already suffered.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The former hostage, who asked not to be identified, and her travel companion were visiting the Netherlands on a speaking tour organized by the Israeli Defense Ministry, according to\u00a0Ynet<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Geert Wilders<\/a>, who has been trying to form a coalition government since his pro-Israel\u00a0Freedom Party<\/a>\u00a0won a landslide victory in last year\u2019s general election, called on outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte to urge the airport to fire the security guard.<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month, two survivors of the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on Oct. 7 were discriminated against upon their arrival at\u00a0Manchester Airport<\/a>, leading the U.K. government to launch an investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to a complaint filed by a local Jewish organization, the two brothers were detained at the airport for hours after showing their passports and telling border guards why they were visiting the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

British Home Secretary James Cleverly tweeted late on March 25 that \u201cwe are investigating this. We do not tolerate antisemitism or any form of discrimination. This incident will be handled in line with our disciplinary procedures.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
