Greenwood released an album with Tassa last year titled \u201cJarak Qaribak,\u201d which features vocalists and musicians from across the Middle East, including Cairo, Ramallah, and Beirut. The album\u2019s title means \u201cYour Neighbor Is Your Friend\u201d and in each song on the album, the singers give their own spin on a tune from a country other than their own. Greenwood and Tassa performed songs from \u201cJarak Qaribak\u201d during their concert in Tel Aviv.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">On May 30, the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) denounced the performance and said Radiohead will be targeted with \u201cgrassroots measures\u201d if it continues to support Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cPalestinians unequivocally condemn Jonny Greenwood\u2019s shameful artwashing of Israel\u2019s genocide. We call for peaceful, creative pressure on his band Radiohead to convincingly distance itself from this blatant complicity in the crime of crimes, or face grassroots measures,\u201d PACBI wrote in a&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/bdsmovement.net\/news\/jonny-greenwood-stop-artwashing-genocide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">post<\/a>&nbsp;on the official website of the BDS movement. \u201cWe call on Palestinian\/Arab musicians to refuse to act as a figleaf for international artists who artwash military occupation, apartheid and genocide. To do so is to abrogate their moral duty.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">PACBI also claimed that performing in \u201capartheid Tel Aviv\u201d is \u201cprofoundly immoral\u201d and accused Greenwood of promoting Israel\u2019s alleged \u201c76-year-old regime of settler-colonial apartheid.\u201d Radiohead has not responded to the threats issued by PACBI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The BDS movement seeks to isolate Israel from the international community as a step toward the Jewish state\u2019s eventual elimination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Radiohead has performed in Israel for over 20 years and most recently in 2017, which was the band\u2019s longest set in 11 years and its second-longest concert ever. The 2017 show caused an uproar and garnered protests from supporters of the BDS movement, including&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stereogum.com\/1936869\/thurston-moore-roger-waters-tunde-adebimpe-more-urge-radiohead-to-cancel-israel-show\/news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fellow musicians<\/a>&nbsp;and film director&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/voices\/radiohead-israel-palestine-boycott-bds-thom-yorke-ken-loach-meet-discuss-it-a7835291.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ken Loach.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Israel supported Radiohead beginning in late 1992, not long after the band released its debut album.
