Photo: REUTERS\/Craig Hudson<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Pro-Hamas groups are planning to disrupt Fourth of July celebrations marking US Independence Day in Philadelphia and New York City with \u201cAll Out for Gaza\u201d protests, demonstrating again an ideological link between their anti-Zionism and anti-Americanism.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cPhilly, mark your calendars: July 4,\u201d said an\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/phillypalestinecoalition\/p\/C8xlzYSJPth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">announcement<\/a>\u00a0circulated on social media by two groups, The Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC) and CodePink, the latter of which has ties to the virulent antisemite\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2024\/04\/11\/ny-court-rules-jewish-groups-can-continue-to-call-louis-farrakhan-antisemitic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Louis Farrakhan<\/a>\u00a0through its proxy\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2023\/03\/09\/consulting-firm-drops-sponsorship-of-harvard-event-over-participation-of-linda-sarsour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Linda Sarsour<\/a>\u00a0and has itself\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.codepink.org\/yes_it_is_all_about_the_benjamins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">promoted<\/a>\u00a0antisemitic conspiracies of Jewish power and control.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Philly Palestine Coalition, meanwhile, came under national scrutiny in December when it organized what lawmakers and other government officials described as an\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2023\/12\/05\/anti-israel-coalition-justifies-targeting-philadelphia-restaurant-owned-israeli-chef-cites-genocide-gaza\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">antisemitic demonstration targeting a restaurant<\/a>\u00a0owned by American\u2013Israeli Michael Solomonov, making outlandish accusations against the famed chef and the Jewish state. The group\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2023\/12\/07\/organizers-anti-israel-rally-that-mobbed-israeli-restaurant-philadelphia-have-history-antisemitism-watchdog-reveals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">has a history<\/a>\u00a0of backing the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, calling for the destruction of Israel, and ridiculing victims of Hamas\u2019 violence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The two groups made clear in their latest social media announcement that Thursday\u2019s planned demonstrations won\u2019t just be protests against Israel but the US as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cFor the past 9 months, this country\u2019s continued to support, fund, and oversee this ongoing genocide and warmongering all over the world,\u201d the announcement continued, referring to the US government\u2019s overall backing of Israel\u2019s war against Hamas in Gaza.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThis July 4th, join us as we stand with the resistance and support Palestine, not AmeriKKKa!\u201d the post continued, combining \u201cAmerica\u201d with the infamous acronym of the Ku Klux Klan. \u201cWe don\u2019t celebrate the legacy of genocide, colonialism, and slavery that July 4th symbolizes but struggle for true liberation for all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The post concluded with emojis of the Palestinian flag.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Philadelphia protest will take place in Rittenhouse Square, while the New York City protest will take place in Union Square, located in the Manhattan borough.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Similar to far-right, white nationalist organizations, CodePink has, through its campaigns and social media activity, attempted to undermine the legitimacy of the state by spreading falsehoods about the foreign policy objectives of the US and its allies, including Israel, which it has spuriously accused of committing a genocide in Gaza and manipulating US elections.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">One of CodePink\u2019s board members is lawyer Huwaida Arraf, an anti-Zionist activist who has shared on social media atrocity propaganda manufactured by Hamas to misrepresent Israel\u2019s actions in the Palestinian territories. He was also the co-founder of International Solidarity Movement (ISM), a group that was linked to terrorists in a 2004 investigation conducted by the FBI.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">CodePink publicly boasts ties to other groups linked to terror, including American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), an advocacy group that, according to a\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2023\/04\/26\/deep-financial-system-fueling-bds-movement-new-report-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">landmark report<\/a>\u00a0published last year by the National Association of Scholars (NAS), \u201cretains ties to terrorist groups operating in the Palestinian territories.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In 2019, CodePink defended US Rep. Ilhan Omar\u2019s (D-MN) saying that support for Israel is \u201c<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2019\/02\/11\/congresswoman-ilhan-omar-faces-renewed-antisemitism-allegations-after-aipac-tweet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">all about the Benjamins, baby<\/a>,\u201d an evocation of antisemitic tropes concerning Jewish influence through money. In a statement posted to its website, the organization accused Jews of attacking \u201cpeople of color,\u201d a tactic that has been appropriated by far-right groups to defend minority public figures of color who\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2024\/03\/22\/the-daily-wire-parts-ways-with-candace-owens-after-months-long-flirtation-with-antisemitic-conspiracy-theories\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">embrace<\/a>\u00a0and traffic in antisemitic conspiracies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cEveryone who works in Washington, DC knows that when an elected official crosses AIPAC [the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2024\/06\/26\/progressives-lash-out-aipac-anti-israel-squad-loses-first-member-us-house-race\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">America Israel Public Affairs Committee<\/a>, a pro-Israel lobbying organization in the US], uses its enormous power to exact revenge,\u201d CodePink said. \u201cWe are seeing it now as they try to destroy a brand new, inspirational congresswoman: Ilhan Omar. We won\u2019t stand for it again. Every moment that we allow false accusations of anti-Semitism [sic] to dominate the national conversation, we ignore the actual issues \u2026 The pro-Israel lobby has been looking for any reason to attack Ilhan Omar, but don\u2019t let them dictate the terms of the debate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Philly Palestine Coalition (PPC) was the principal orchestrator of illegal \u201c<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2024\/05\/20\/pro-hamas-encampment-drexel-university-pushes-school-lockdown\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gaza Solidarity Encampments<\/a>\u201d at the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, according to an investigative report by\u00a0<em>The\u00a0<\/em><em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em>, demonstrations which resulted in dozens of antisemitic incidents, vandalism, and hate speech.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">At the University of Pennsylvania, protesters, students, and non-students who were sent there by PPC vandalized a statue of Benjamin Franklin. At Drexel University, during the time of PPC\u2019s involvement in protests, the Raymond G. Perelman Center for Jewish Life was vandalized, with the perpetrators removing large channel letters spelling out Perelman\u2019s name from a brick structure bearing the building\u2019s name.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">A month later, Drexel University was pushed into lockdown when the PPC-backed group \u201cDrexel Palestine Coalition\u201d (DPC) set up an encampment and flooded it with non-students.
