Munich residents formed a human chain around a local synagogue in a show of solidarity with the Jewish community in Germany<\/a>, as an anti-Israel protest marched through the city center during Shabbat prayers.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday night, around 750 people protested against the war in Gaza in central Munich, rallying near the main synagogue at Jakobsplatz as Shabbat prayers took place inside \u2014 a demonstration that sparked fear among members of the Jewish community and prevented some from attending services, German media reported.<\/span><\/p>\n

Organized under the slogan \u201cStop the Genocide. Free Palestine,\u201d the protest was marked by openly antisemitic chants, as demonstrators shouted \u201cDeath to the IDF [Israel Defense Forces],\u201d \u201cZionists are fascists, child murderers, and racists,\u201d and \u201cThere is only one state: Palestine.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
