regime<\/a>&nbsp;on Friday, one day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised what he described as the military\u2019s unprecedented achievements three weeks into the war.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Israeli military said on Friday it killed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini in an overnight airstrike against regime targets across the Iranian capital of Tehran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"CustomPortableTextComponents-module-scss-module__peBeZa__paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cNaini disseminated the regime\u2019s terrorist propaganda to its proxies across the Middle East,\u201d<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IDF\/status\/2034921621543113155\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&nbsp;the military said<\/a>, describing him as a central figure in messaging tied to attacks against Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Kasra Aarabi, director of IRGC research at United Against Nuclear Iran, described Naini\u2019s death as \u201ca significant blow to the regime\u2019s psychological warfare and propaganda operations \u2014 an increasingly central pillar of the IRGC\u2019s current war strategy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"CustomPortableTextComponents-module-scss-module__peBeZa__paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Iranian state media had reported his death earlier in the day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Israeli military also announced on Friday that, two days ago, it killed a key, senior comm<span class=\"highlight\" data-qa-component=\"highlight-text\">and<\/span>er in Iran\u2019s intelligence ministry,<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IDF\/status\/2034994335242944624\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&nbsp;Mahdi Rostami Shamastan<\/a>, in an airstrike in Tehran following a joint operation involving Israel\u2019s Military Intelligence, Mossad, and Shin Bet.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) also said on Friday that it killed the Basij militia\u2019s style=\"color: #000080;\">The Iranian regime uses the Basij paramilitary force, which is affiliated with the IRGC, to violently suppress protests and crush political opposition across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cAhmadi played a central role in advancing and executing terror attacks carried out by Basij Forces,\u201d the IDF posted on social media. \u201cHe was also responsible for enforcing public order and the regime\u2019s values on behalf of the IRGC and leading major suppression operations during the&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2026\/01\/26\/irans-rising-death-toll-ramps-up-pressure-trump-respond\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recent internal protests in Iran<\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Ahmadi was killed earlier this week in the strikes that targeted and successfully eliminated other senior Basij militia members, including top commander Gholam Reza Soleimani and his deputy, Seyyed Karishi.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The IDF\u2019s announcements came after Netanyahu on Thursday vowed the campaign against Iran will continue \u201cas long as necessary\u201d until all objectives are met.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Speaking at a press conference, Netanyahu reiterated the war\u2019s three main objectives, emphasizing the dismantling of Iran\u2019s nuclear program, the destruction of its ballistic missile capabilities, and the creation of conditions for the Iranian people to determine their own future.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cToday, after 20 days [of conflict], I can tell you: Iran does not have the ability to enrich uranium \u2026 and it does not have the ability to produce ballistic missiles,\u201d the Israeli leader said. \u201cNot only did we destroy the existing missiles [and nuclear components], but we seriously damaged the industries that make it possible to produce them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">He also stressed that Israel is operating on all fronts \u2014 by air, on land, underground, and across the Caspian Sea \u2014 where, this week, Israeli forces launched their first attack on Iranian Navy targets since the outbreak of the war.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cA revolution cannot be made from the air; there are also ground-based options,\u201d Netanyahu said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWe have eliminated the political and military top command, the [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] and the Basij,\u201d he continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">On Tuesday night, the IDF killed Iranian Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib in Tehran during a precision airstrike carried out with a narrow window of real-time intelligence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Appointed in 2021, Khatib led Iran\u2019s Ministry of Intelligence, a central pillar of the regime\u2019s repression apparatus, overseeing espionage, covert operations, and intelligence activities targeting both domestic dissent and foreign adversaries, including Israeli and US targets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">He also played a central role during the regime\u2019s brutal crackdown on internal opposition, including the latest nationwide anti-government protests, which&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2026\/03\/16\/new-reports-expose-irans-shocking-use-rape-torture-crush-protests\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">security forces violently crushed<\/a>, with thousands of demonstrators tortured and killed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Khatib\u2019s assassination was part of an ongoing wave of targeted killings of senior Iranian officials in recent days, further weakening the regime\u2019s leadership and operational networks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">During Thursday\u2019s press conference, Netanyahu praised Israel\u2019s recent military and strategic successes, presenting them as a defining moment for the country\u2019s strength and influence in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cI promised that we would change the Middle East \u2014 and we have changed it beyond recognition. The State of Israel is stronger than ever and Iran is weaker than ever,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWe have turned Israel into a regional power, and some would say \u2026 into a global power,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe relationship between me and my friend [US President Donald Trump] is unprecedented, and together we are leading the fight of the free world against the forces of evil.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Earlier this week, the Israeli Air Force also&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2026\/03\/18\/top-iran-official-larijani-no-pragmatist-death-strikes-major-blow-regime-analysts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killed Ali Larijani<\/a>, secretary of Iran\u2019s National Security Council, in what was the most significant assassination since the killing of former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei at the start of the campaign on Feb. 28. Larijani was widely believed to be running the country following Khamenei\u2019s death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">With the military campaign escalating, Israeli forces have now been authorized to carry out targeted assassinations of senior Iranian officials without requiring approval from higher command.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Netanyahu also said he had instructed intelligence officers to \u201cact so that the Revolutionary Guards\u2019 killers know we will hunt them down in the cities as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cIt\u2019s too early to say whether the Iranian people will take advantage of the conditions we are creating to take to the streets,\u201d the Israeli leader said. \u201cI hope so \u2014 but it will depend only on them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cI see this war ending much faster than people think,\u201d he continued. The Islamist regime\u2019s collapse \u201cwill not happen in one day, but we can already see the cracks.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">According to a recent intelligence assessment, the Iranian regime shows no signs of surrender and remains far from collapse, and Israeli officials have been warned that the war could continue for weeks, the Israeli news outlet N12 reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Even though there have been demonstrations in Iran in recent days, this latest assessment shows that they have been limited to a few locations with relatively small numbers of participants, and that the regime\u2019s brutal repression continues to instill fear.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">However, a senior Israeli source also told the outlet that the regime is in a state of \u201ccomplete chaos,\u201d with Jerusalem seeing increasing<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2026\/03\/09\/nothing-save-defections-command-breakdown-grip-irans-security-forces-us-israel-strikes-pound-regime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&nbsp;signs of a breakdown in the regime\u2019s systems<\/a>&nbsp;in Tehran.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThere is no one there at the moment who is taking the orders, and the government vacuum is deepening,\u201d the official said, adding that Israel is \u201cworking to create a breaking point\u201d for the regime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThe goal is for the Iranian public to understand for itself, through the reality on the ground, that this regime has reached a \u2018game over.\u2019 We want to create the conditions in which the Iranian people feel they have an opportunity to take their fate into their own hands and take to the streets,\u201d the source reportedly said.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ImageRender_root__MCZJD\">\n<figure class=\"ArticleImage_root__7IVZw ArticleImage_news__6Sl9m innerArticleImage\">\n<div class=\"ArticleImage_imageWrapper__N4bkG ArticleImage_landscape__y8R_P\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><picture><source media=\"(min-width: 821px)\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/img.mako.co.il\/2026\/03\/02\/teheran_Iran_re_autoOrient_i.jpg\"><\/picture><\/span><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Israel\u2019s campaign is increasingly focused on&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2026\/03\/18\/israel-ramps-up-strikes-irans-leadership-repression-apparatus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismantling Iran\u2019s internal repression systems<\/a>, aiming to create a leadership vacuum and logistical breakdown that could hinder the regime\u2019s ability to respond if mass protests erupt again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Israeli forces have carried out targeted strikes on senior Basij and IRGC officers, destroyed infrastructure used to suppress protests, and launched cyber operations to disrupt internal security communications and coordination, crippling the regime\u2019s ability to redeploy its forces effectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">So far, Israel says it has dropped some 10,000 munitions on targets linked to the IRGC, Basij, and other internal security forces, delivering a devastating blow to the regime\u2019s security apparatus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning alone, around 300 Basij commanders and field officials were killed in a wave of strikes on key command and operational centers, according to&nbsp;<i>Iran International<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">During Thursday\u2019s press conference, Netanyahu expressed pride in the Israeli people for their steadfast stand, praising their resilience and unity in the face of ongoing conflict.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cI know how difficult it is to stay in the security rooms and showers, and I understand the challenges with studies, businesses, and reservist duties.
