<\/a>Is Saving Europe Still Possible?<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\nGuy Milli\u00e8re<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n London. Sunday, May 10. A\u00a0protest<\/a>\u00a0against rising anti-Semitism is organized in front of the prime minister’s residence. About 20,000 people are present, mostly Jews. Secretary of State for Work and Pensions Pat McFadden, who addressed them, was jeered and booed. “I feel your pain,” he\u00a0told<\/a>\u00a0the crowd. The reply was, “Action, no more words.”<\/span><\/p>\n When British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, a few days before the protest, visited Golders Green, a heavily Jewish area of London where two Jews had been stabbed on April 29, he was\u00a0greeted<\/a>\u00a0with chants of “Keir Starmer, Jew Harmer.”<\/span><\/p>\n Jews in the United Kingdom are no longer safe. The year 2025 saw\u00a03,700 anti-Semitic incidents<\/a>\u00a0recorded \u2014 approximately ten a day. By the end of 2026, it looks as if the figures will be\u00a0at least as high<\/a>. In 2023, the figures were\u00a0even higher<\/a>. The\u00a0massacre<\/a>\u00a0of thousands of Israelis by the terrorist group Hamas on October 7, 2023 triggered an explosion of attacks on Jews in the United Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n Violent attacks against Jews and Jewish institutions in London are on the rise. On March 23, an\u00a0arson attack<\/a>\u00a0destroyed four ambulances belonging to a Jewish volunteer emergency medical service, Hatzola Northwest. On April 18, the Kenton United Synagogue in northwest London was\u00a0firebombed<\/a>. On April 29, there were the\u00a0stabbings in Golders Green<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Jewish children are\u00a0harassed<\/a>\u00a0on their way to school. It is dangerous to display any Jewishness. Men\u00a0hide their skullcaps<\/a>\u00a0and women conceal the Star of David pendants they wear.<\/span><\/p>\n “London has become a no-go zone for Jews,” UK Commissioner for Countering Extremism Robin Simcox\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0on March 8.<\/span><\/p>\n What is happening in London is happening throughout the UK, wherever Jewish communities exist. On October 2, 2025 \u2014 during the Yom Kippur holiday \u2014 a 35-year-old Syrian, Jihad Al-Shamie,\u00a0plowed his car<\/a>\u00a0into a gathering of Jews who had come to pray at a synagogue in Manchester, then began slashing and stabbing them, and finally tried to force his way into the synagogue. He left two dead and three wounded.<\/span><\/p>\n Almost all antisemitic acts in Britain are carried out by radicalized Muslims, yet it has become a problem to state that openly. Britons who question Muslim antisemitism are\u00a0accused<\/a>\u00a0of “stirring up racial or religious hatred.”<\/span><\/p>\n After every attack, the British government, along with other political leaders, take great care to\u00a0condemn antisemitism<\/a>. They also take great care each time to avoid saying who the perpetrators are. Their condemnations therefore amount to empty words. If you do not identify the source of the Jew-hate, how can you combat it?<\/span><\/p>\n Hatred of Jews, of course, goes hand in hand with\u00a0hatred of Israel<\/a>. It is a sentiment shared by a large segment of the UK population.<\/span><\/p>\n Starmer, who, a few years ago,\u00a0claimed to have purged<\/a>\u00a0antisemites and anti-Israel elements from the Labour Party \u2013 and for five minutes appeared to be a\u00a0friend of Israel<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 now sharply\u00a0criticizes<\/a>\u00a0country as well as its democratically elected government.<\/span><\/p>\n In July 2025, on behalf of the United Kingdom, Starmer agreed to the publication of a\u00a0communiqu\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 also signed by 28 other countries \u2014 falsely accusing Israel of depriving Palestinians of “human dignity” and perpetrating the “inhumane killing of civilians.” The communiqu\u00e9 was \u2013 no surprise — exploited by all of Israel’s enemies, particularly those also\u00a0falsely accusing<\/a>\u00a0Israel of genocide.<\/span><\/p>\n Starmer was just warming up. As if that were not odious enough, Starmer went on, in the name of the UK, officially to\u00a0recognize<\/a>\u00a0a\u00a0non-existent<\/a>\u00a0“State of Palestine.”<\/span><\/p>\n In the\u00a0words<\/a>\u00a0of Zoheir Mohsen, wo was a senior Palestine Liberation Organization official from 1971-1979:<\/span><\/p>\n “The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality, today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism.<\/strong><\/p>\n “For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.”<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n Starmer recognized this fictitious “State of Palestine” even as Hamas still held power and hostages in Gaza. His weakness cannot be overstated.<\/span><\/p>\n He was — along with the current leaders of France, Belgium, Ireland, Spain, Norway and Sweden — just among the\u00a0too many countries<\/a>\u00a0also\u00a0recognizing<\/a>\u00a0an imaginary Palestinian State.<\/span><\/p>\n Stamer was also quick to\u00a0declare<\/a>\u00a0on April 1, “This is not our war” — as if Iran’s\u00a0pursuit of nuclear weapon<\/a>s and the threats\u00a0through terrorism<\/a>\u00a0that the Iranian regime poses to the West are not matters of concern to the UK. Starmer must surely be aware that at least one Iranian group \u2014\u00a0Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia<\/a>\u00a0(HAYI) \u2014 is directly responsible for numerous antisemitic attacks in the country. Starmer has never publicly condemned HAYI or any similar group.<\/span><\/p>\n Starmer further sought to\u00a0deny the U.S. Air Force access<\/a>\u00a0to the joint US-UK airbase on Diego Garcia and RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire. His consent included the pitiful\u00a0stipulation<\/a>\u00a0that the bases should be used for “defensive” missions only.<\/span><\/p>\n Several countries in Europe —\u00a0Spain, Italy, France<\/a>, and\u00a0Austria<\/a>\u00a0— also barred U.S. Air Force aircraft from using their bases and airspace.<\/span><\/p>\n Many in the UK now see that unless a course correction is undertaken — and fast –, the country is facing an extremely bleak future. British civilization itself appears\u00a0positioned to perish<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n On March 10, 2025, a protest march was organized by political activist Tommy Robinson — one of the very few people in England consistently to speak out on behalf of the tens of thousands of British children who have been\u00a0raped and trafficked<\/a>\u00a0by gangs of “Asian”\u00a0migrants<\/a>\u00a0(a euphemism for\u00a0Pakistani<\/a>\u00a0as well as others).<\/span><\/p>\n On May 16, 2026, Robinson organized a “Unite the Kingdom” march, which drew another massive crowd —\u00a0tens of thousands<\/a>. Starmer\u00a0claimed<\/a>\u00a0that Robinson and those who work with him peddle “hatred and division.”<\/span><\/p>\n The day before the march, Starmer\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0that “We’ve already blocked visas for far-right agitators who want to come here to spew their extremist views,” — but not, of course, for potential rapists.<\/span><\/p>\n The local elections on May 7 —\u00a0described<\/a>\u00a0in several British newspapers as an unofficial referendum on Starmer — were a\u00a0disaster<\/a>\u00a0for Starmer’s Labour Party — and a\u00a0huge victory<\/a>\u00a0for Reform UK, the anti-immigration party created in 2018 as the “Brexit Party” by Nigel Farage. Labour lost\u00a0more than 1,100<\/a>\u00a0of the 2,300 council seats it had held. It also\u00a0lost control<\/a>\u00a0of 35 councils it had held for decades. Reform UK won\u00a0more than 1,400 council seats<\/a>\u00a0and gained control of 14 councils.<\/span><\/p>\n After such a rout, it was expected that Starmer would resign. So far, he has\u00a0chosen to remain<\/a>\u00a0in his post.\u00a0Four members<\/a>\u00a0of the British government, however, did resign; more than 80 Labour MPs\u00a0urged him<\/a>\u00a0to quit.<\/span><\/p>\n The next elections for parliament are scheduled for\u00a02029<\/a>. If the government falls before then, elections would be held sooner. If they were held today, Reform UK would likely win, accompanied by a recovery of the endlessly mismanaged country (such as\u00a0here<\/a>,\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0here<\/a>).<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, Muslims continue to enter the UK, both legally and\u00a0illegally.<\/a>\u00a0As their population\u00a0continues to grow<\/a>, they have been\u00a0integrating less and less<\/a>. Many appear to have come not only for employment opportunities and welfare benefits, but also to transform Great Britain into a country indistinguishable from the ones they left.<\/span><\/p>\n Some people might call that imperialism. The Portuguese and Spanish displaced the cultures of South America; England tried to bring its customs to its colonies, and so on. At the time, the countries overtaken did not have the means to stop these invasions. Today’s Britons are not Aztecs.<\/span><\/p>\n There are now officially almost\u00a0four million Muslims<\/a>\u00a0in the UK (6% of the population). In 2001, there were only 1.59 million Muslims in the country (2.7% of the total population).<\/span><\/p>\n A Pew Research Center study\u00a0estimated<\/a>\u00a0that under just a “medium” migration scenario, the Muslim population in the UK by 2050 could be around 16.7%\u201317.2%, approximately 13\u201313.5 million people.<\/span><\/p>\n Jews continue to leave Britain. According to the Institute for Jewish Policy Research,\u00a0there are 313,000 Jews<\/a>\u00a0left in the UK (0.4% of the population), and the number falls every year.<\/span><\/p>\n The problem, in addition to the sharp shift in demographics, is also one of determination. In 404 BCE, it took only 30 men working on behalf of Sparta to bring down Athens, one of the great foundational civilizations of Western culture.<\/span><\/p>\n Even among non-radicalized Muslims, there is widespread acceptance of Sharia practices, such as the continual cover-up of sexual abuse crimes. There has been a consistently permissive attitude toward rape gangs by the\u00a0police<\/a>, the government and the judiciary — all of whom are apparently terrified of being labeled racist. There has also been an increasing\u00a0suppression<\/a>\u00a0of free speech — the cousin of blasphemy laws — as well as the rejection of Judeo-Christian traditions, such as\u00a0Christmas<\/a>, and a subversion of\u00a0common law<\/a>\u00a0(such as finding that terrorists just have “mental health<\/a>” problems. All this has been accompanied by a rise in hatred of Jews, of Israel, and of the culture of the West.<\/span><\/p>\n Meanwhile, the British economy continues to fall. The official unemployment rate is low, 4.9%. Mostly people seem to be\u00a0exiting the labor market<\/a>\u00a0and becoming economically inactive, apparently content to live off welfare benefits and “free stuff.” Almost 14 million British citizens (21% of the population)\u00a0live in poverty<\/a>, have an income below 60% of the national median, and struggle to afford food, housing and essential services.<\/span><\/p>\n As in the UK, the economies of most Western European countries are\u00a0in decline<\/a>. In 2000, the member states of the European Union collectively accounted for 20% of global GDP. By 2024, they represented\u00a0only 15.2 %<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The birthrate among Muslim women everywhere in Western Europe is\u00a0far higher<\/a>\u00a0than the birth rate among non-Muslim women.<\/span><\/p>\n In France, the birthrate is\u00a01.56<\/a>. In Germany,\u00a01.35<\/a>. In\u00a0Italy, 1.14<\/a>, and in Spain,\u00a01.10<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n The birthrate in the United Kingdom has also been falling. It is now\u00a01.41 children per woman<\/a>, well below the replacement level of 2.1. The birthrate among Muslim women is far higher. In the UK, even if polygamy is not allowed, a Muslim man’s extra wives receive\u00a0extra welfare benefits<\/a>. If the polygamous marriage took place overseas, you see, that makes it all right. There are\u00a0reports<\/a>\u00a0that sometimes each of the four wives has her own house — presumably at the British taxpayers’ expense.<\/span><\/p>\n What is happening in the United Kingdom is also happening throughout Western Europe — and has established a foothold in the\u00a0United States<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n In France, antisemitic acts may not be as frequent as in the United Kingdom, yet they remain common:\u00a01,320 incidents recorded in 2025<\/a>\u2014more than 3.5 each day. Jews in France make up slightly\u00a0less than 1%<\/a>\u00a0of the population, yet, year after year, they are the victims of\u00a0more than 50%<\/a>\u00a0of all anti-religious hate crimes.<\/span><\/p>\n In Belgium, the Jewish population is even smaller —\u00a0fewer than 30,000<\/a>\u00a0— but the number of antisemitic incidents nevertheless\u00a0jumped<\/a>\u00a0from 57 in 2022 to 277 in 2024, a more than fourfold increase. A survey conducted in 2024 for the European Jewish Congress\u00a0showed<\/a>\u00a0that many Belgians apparently do not even consider it antisemitic to scrawl graffiti on a synagogue, or to insult or threaten a Jew or person thought to be a “Zionist”: 22% of respondents said they regarded such acts to be understandable, acceptable and legitimate.<\/span><\/p>\n In Germany, the Jews account for\u00a0less than 0.2 percent<\/a>\u00a0of the total population, yet suffer a disproportionate number of anti-religious attacks \u2013 also on an upward trend: from\u00a01,824 antisemitic attacks<\/a>\u00a0recorded in 2024 to 2,267 in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n The same pattern can be seen across all of Western Europe. For years, virtually all antisemitic acts \u2014 as in the United Kingdom \u2013 have been\u00a0perpetrated<\/a>\u00a0by radicalized Muslims. Again, most Western European politicians condemn “antisemitism” but without mentioning who the perpetrators are.<\/span><\/p>\n Hatred of Israel and Jews, doctrinally imposed by\u00a0the Qur’an<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the hadith<\/a>, is deeply entrenched within Muslim communities in Western Europe, and accommodated by much of non-Muslim society there.<\/span><\/p>\n Every current Western European leader, just like Starmer,\u00a0has stated<\/a>\u00a0\u2014 in varying terms \u2014that the war in Iran is “not their war.”<\/span><\/p>\n Lately in Western Europe,\u00a0political parties<\/a>\u00a0with platforms like that of the right-of-center Reform UK are\u00a0gaining ground<\/a>. Several appear poised to win elections. They see — and say aloud — that in Europe, Western civilization\u00a0could die<\/a>. They are calling for national renewal.<\/span><\/p>\n The governments of some Central European countries — Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia — have adopted a firm\u00a0stance against immigration<\/a>\u00a0— for which the European Union thoroughly excoriated them. Hungary experienced being\u00a0occupied<\/a>\u00a0by the Ottoman Empire for nearly 200 years. Former Prime Minister Viktor Orb\u00e1n — who just lost an election — did not want to see another Islamic occupation.<\/span><\/p>\n Central Europe still has one of the world’s\u00a0lowest Muslim population<\/a>s (roughly between 0.1% and 1% of the total population). Jews living there face virtually\u00a0no violent antisemitic attacks<\/a>. Central Europe, however, is also seeing declining birthrates. In the Czech Republic, it fell to\u00a01.28 children per woman<\/a>. In Hungary, it now stands at\u00a01.31<\/a>; in Poland, the figure is\u00a01.1<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Is saving Europe still possible?
