<\/a>Trump calls off Iran strikes, says deal approved but Islamic Republic denies agreement reached<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\nJessica Russak-Hoffman<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he has called off strikes against Iran after reaching a deal with the regime.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cBased on the fact that discussions with the Islamic Republic of Iran have been brought to the highest level of Iranian leadership and approved, I have, as president of the United States of America, canceled the scheduled strikes and bombings against Iran this evening,\u201d the president stated. \u201cDiscussions and final points have been, in both concept and great detail, approved by all parties involved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Trump said that the other parties were \u201cIsrael, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and others.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The U.S. naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz \u201cwill remain in full force and effect until this transaction is finalized,\u201d Trump stated. \u201cTime and place of the signing to be announced shortly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n During a press conference in the Oval Office later in the day, Trump said that \u201cwe have a deal that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, which was the whole purpose of what we had to go through to get this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe have a signing soon, and the documents are in pretty final shape, so we\u2019ll see,\u201d he said. \u201cIt should be done and it should be done pretty quickly.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThey want it every bit as much as everybody else wants it,\u201d the president said. \u201cI think a lot of good relationships can ensue from this.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Iran\u00a0reportedly<\/a><\/span>\u00a0denied approving an agreement with the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI hope we have in fact reached a diplomatic solution to end the Iranian conflict that will meet President Trump\u2019s red lines and be fundamentally different from the JCPOA,\u201d said Sen.
