<\/a>Netanyahu, Trump meeting in DC \u2018positive, productive\u2019<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\nAndrew Bernard<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n U.S. President Donald Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday before the two leaders are due to attend the funeral of former South Carolina Republican senator Lindsey Graham.<\/span><\/p>\n The meeting, which lasted about an hour, comes amid questions about the direction of the war in Iran, with Trump continuing to pursue negotiations with the Islamic Republic after\u00a0suggesting<\/u><\/a><\/span>\u00a0last week that he was prepared to carry out a \u201chigher level\u201d of strikes.<\/span><\/p>\n In a statement after the meeting, Netanyahu said it was \u201cwas one of the best conversations I\u2019ve had with the president of the United States.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI have just finished an excellent meeting with President Trump,\u201d Netanyahu said. \u201cWhen I say excellent, it\u2019s not just lip service.
