Authors are being told to strip Hebrew words and change Jewish character names just to get published. Jewish and Israeli performers are being harassed off stages and dropped from lineups. The organization revealed seven core anti-Jewish trends in the industry since the Hamas-led terrorist attack in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, including the boycotts of Israeli publishing and institutions, review-bombing, blacklists, and the suppression of books with Jewish, Israeli, or Zionist characters and themes.

The ADL’s “State of the Art” initiative also documented 65 cases across 41 locations in the US in which Jewish or Israeli performers were canceled, faced harassment, backlash, protest, or disruptions to their performances.
