<\/a>\u2018Nobody Wants This\u2019 Creator Erin Foster Says She Disagrees With Adam Brody\u2019s \u2018Free Palestine\u2019 Comments<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/h5>\nShiryn Ghermezian<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d creator Erin Foster has responded to recent comments made by the show\u2019s lead actor, Adam Brody, who accused Israel of \u201cgenocide\u201d and called for a \u201cFree Palestine,\u201d by saying that she does not agree with his views.<\/span><\/p>\n Foster is a guest on an upcoming episode of the \u201cNot Skinny but Not Fat\u201d podcast, hosted by Amanda Hirsch. It will premiere on Oct. 27, but a teaser clip<\/a> released on Thursday for the episode shows Hirsch asking Foster to share her thoughts on Brody\u2019s recent interview with GQ<\/em> magazine, during which he accused<\/a> Israel of committing a \u201cgenocide\u201d against Palestinians and expressed support for a \u201cfree Palestine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Brody plays a rabbi in \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d who falls in love with a non-Jewish woman, played by Kristen Bell. The actor is Jewish but previously described himself as \u201cnot religious at all, a nonbeliever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cYou know, it\u2019s complicated,\u201d Foster said when asked about Brody\u2019s comments. \u201cI think our work environment, our set is very similar to dinner tables around the world where people are having debate and discussion and disagreeing. And, you know, while I love Adam, I also disagree with him, and that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Foster then said she wants Jewish fans of the Netflix show \u201cto know that I see you, and I hear you, and I understand how you feel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThe show has always been and always will be a love letter to Judaism. That is why I made this show,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt\u2019s because of how beautiful of an experience I\u2019ve had becoming Jewish and being a Jewish person. And sitting here right now, at this time in the world when there is almost zero positive representation of Jewish people, I think it\u2019s so important to have that, and that\u2019s what this show is intended to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cNobody Wants This\u201d is based on Foster\u2019s own love life. She converted to Judaism before marrying her husband, Jewish record-label owner Simon Tikhman. They have a daughter who was born in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n Foster went on to tell Hirsch that \u201ceveryone is entitled to a different opinion than me. I can just tell you what I created this show for, and what the intention of the show is.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Earlier this month, Foster attended the Creative Community for Peace\u2019s Ambassadors of Peace Gala in Beverly Hills and shared a message for young Jews around the world, telling<\/a> them: \u201cBe the thing that you want to be known for; be the thing that you want to see.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very easy to get pulled into the negativity, arguing, yelling, and the social media wars. If you can stay above the fray and stay true to yourself, I think you will be seen for who you are,\u201d she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n While talking to GQ<\/em>, Brody said he had not publicly discussed the Middle East conflict in the past because it simply never came up during interviews.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI just answer the questions I\u2019m asked,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd it\u2019s true. I\u2019m not wearing a pin, so I\u2019m not inviting a certain question, and perhaps I should. I really admire people who do. But 99 percent of what I\u2019m asked about is about the show.
