An antisemitism watchdog group rebuked a Palestinian ambassador on Monday for promoting anti-Jewish conspiracy theories and denying the existence of the Jewish people.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

PLO Ambassador to Chile Imad Nabil Jada\u2019a made the offensive remarks at the Conference for Peace in Palestine and Israel on May 15 in Santiago, Chile. A recently obtained video of the speech shows him advocating the antisemitic conspiracy theory of Zionist global domination, and claiming that the PLO \u201cdoes not recognize the existence of the Jewish People.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no Jewish people,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) said Jada\u2019a\u2019s comments combined \u201ctraditional European antisemitism with Israel bashing, a dangerous form of contemporary antisemitism, that also forms the ideological basis for Radical Political Islamist incitement to genocide\u201d against Jews.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHere there can be no excuse, as some still weakly contend, of separating criticism of Israel with blatant antisemitism,\u201d the organization said. \u201cA peaceful resolution to the conflict must include concrete steps to eradicate official PA antisemitism, and a real recognition of the \u2018Other.\u2019 One hopes that responsible leaders will take action and condemn this blatant expression of hate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In his speech, Ambassador Jada\u2019a claimed that Zionists have \u201cplans of dominating life in the entire planet,\u201d and cited the infamous forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a legitimate and accurate publication.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA Jew with an Israeli passport asserts that the so-called Jewish nation is a made up invention,\u201d he continued, citing controversial Israeli author Shlomo Sand. \u201cBecause a religion cannot be a people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
