Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Wednesday said she was \u201cdeeply concerned\u201d by Iran\u2019s long-range ballistic missile tests and called for fresh sanctions on the Islamic Republic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Iran fired two long-range ballistic missiles on Wednesday, one of which was stamped with threats in Hebrew and Persian to annihilate Israel, as it continued military tests in defiance of US sanctions and fresh warnings from Washington.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI am deeply concerned by reports that Iran has tested multiple missiles, which it claimed were stamped with words declaring that \u2018Israel should be wiped from the pages of history,’\u201d Clinton said.<\/span><\/p>\n

She described the missile launches as \u201ca blatant violation of Iran\u2019s UN Security obligations,\u201d and said it \u201cmust have consequences.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

“Iran should face sanctions for these activities, and the international community must demonstrate that Iran\u2019s threats toward Israel will not be tolerated,\u201d she added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clinton also slammed the \u201crepulsive\u201d rhetoric against Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Iran state TV trumpeted Wednesday\u2019s test as officials boasted that it demonstrated the country\u2019s might against longtime nemesis Israel, with at least one missile emblazoned with the words \u201cIsrael must be wiped off the face of the Earth,\u201d according to the Fars news agency.<\/span><\/p>\n
