Upon searching Amro\u2019s body, police found another knife on his person.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Footage from a security camera that was released Sunday corroborated the Israeli account, clearly showing Amro brandishing the blades and moving towards at security forces before being shot.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">According to police, Amro also shouted \u201cAllahu akbar\u201d \u2014 God is great, in Arabic \u2014 as he approached the officers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">He had arrived in Israel the day before and stayed at a hostel in the Old City. On Friday morning he attended prayer services on the Temple Mount.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">According to police, Amro purchased the knives at a shop in the Muslim Quarter market upon leaving the holy site on Friday and hid them in his clothes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Jordanian authorities over the weekend expressed doubt that Amro had assaulted the Israelis at all, saying he was merely a tourist. A spokeswoman for the Jordanian Foreign Ministry denounced \u201cthe barbaric act of the army of the Israeli occupation, whose premeditated shooting of the Jordanian Saeed Amro\u2026 killed him on the spot.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/CsplZuTWcAA-A66.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" data-aria-label-part=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cAmro was part of a group of tourists who had entered the Palestinian territories on Thursday to visit Jerusalem,\u201d Sabah Refai said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Meanwhile, Amro\u2019s body was handed over to the Jordanian authorities at the Allenby crossing on Sunday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Also over the weekend, the Muslim Brotherhood\u2019s political arm in Jordan called Amro\u2019s death an \u201cexecution\u201d and demanded the closure of Israel\u2019s embassy in Amman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Many Palestinians hold Jordanian passports, and Israeli police said on Friday they were checking if Amro also had Palestinian papers.
