Mel Gibson doesn\u2019t understand why people are still talking about anti-Semitic remarks he made after a drunk driving arrest in 2006.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

During an interview with Variety\u2019s podcast Playback, Gibson said he finds it \u201ckind of annoying\u201d when he\u2019s asked to explain his drunken rant.<\/span><\/p>\n

As a recap, ten years ago Gibson was recorded saying that \u201cf\u2014king Jews\u201d are \u201cresponsible for all the wars in the world.\u201d He then asked his arresting officer: \u201cAre you a Jew?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked by Playback\u2019s interviewer how he responds to people who say they won\u2019t watch his films as a result of those comments, the 60-year-old actor explained that he didn\u2019t quite get the problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand why after 10 years it\u2019s any kind of issue,\u201d Gibson said. \u201cSurely if I was really what they say I was, some kind of hater, there\u2019d be evidence of actions somewhere.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He went onto claim that accusations he is prejudiced are \u201cunfair.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never discriminated against anyone or done anything that sort of supports that reputation,\u201d the actor said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gibson, whose film \u201cHacksaw Ridge\u201d comes out early next month, pointed to the fact that a number of years have elapsed since his rant\u2014and people should move on.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTen years have gone by\u2026I\u2019m feeling good,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m sober, all of that kind of stuff, and for me it\u2019s a dim thing in the past.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
