Anti-Israel activists are seeking to co-opt the left-wing protests that have erupted across the US following Donald Trump\u2019s victory over Hillary Clinton in last Tuesday\u2019s presidential election to further their cause, a prominent conservative US legal expert said on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cNone of this is solidarity,\u201d Cornell Law School Professor William A. Jacobson wrote on his Legal Insurrection blog. \u201cIt\u2019s conquest of other peoples and movements to redirect them to and focus attention on the BDS anti-Israel agenda.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As highlighted by Jacobson, the New York City branch of Students for Justice in Palestine (NYC-SJP) has been calling on its members to join the anti-Trump demonstrations.<\/span>
\n In video uploaded to Facebook by NYC-SJP , protesters can be heard chanting, \u201cThere is only one solution\u2026intifada revolution,\u201d and \u201cTrump, Obama, you will feel the intifada.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIntifada\u201d is an Arabic word meaning \u201ctremor\u201d that is most commonly associated around the world with two violent Palestinian uprisings against Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHow will this end?\u201d Jacobson asked in his blog post. \u201cThe way it usually ends in these hijackings \u2014 anti-Israel activists damage the movement they supposedly support.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On Sunday, Fox News contributor Pete Hegseth asserted that the Trump protests were being driven by George Soros-funded groups that want \u201cperpetual anarchy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese are Communists, these are anarchists, they\u2019re antisemitic,\u201d Hegseth said on Fox and Friends. \u201cThey\u2019re not pro-American liberals who are frustrated with conservatism. They\u2019re anti-American and they want to foment chaos across our country.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump himself has tweeted twice about the demonstrations. In the first tweet \u2014 published on Thursday night \u2014 he said, \u201cJust had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Just a few hours later, the president-elect adopted a more conciliatory tone, tweeting, \u201cLove the fact that small groups of protesters last night have passion for our great country. We will all come together and be proud!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
