HOLOCAUST survivor Leslie Kleinman says he would travel a million miles to “save just one child from hate”, 70 years after a US soldier liberated him from Auschwitz in Poland.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\"LeslieLeslie Kleinman tells his remarkable story<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Leslie – now aged 85 – decided for the very first time to tell his remarkable story as a young Jewish boy in Nazi Germany after 60 years of silence, because he was keen to “educate the next generation.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“I never spoke of the Holocaust in 60 years, I didn’t want to speak about it, didn’t want to know about it.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But I had a vision come to me, telling me you should go and speak to the children because they are the new generation.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Talk with love, like you were brought up – my father and parents brought me up with love.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We were so poor but there was always love in our home and I want to pass the message on to the children of how it important it is to appreciate everybody with love and care.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The only way we will have peace in the world is by doing that.<\/span><\/p>\n

“As long as I shall live, I will tell my story to the children and educate them. If I can save one child, believe me I will go 3 million miles.”<\/span><\/p>\n

And now 70 years away from the darkness and horrors of the Holocaust, Leslie, who now lives in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex has continued to try and do just that.<\/span><\/p>\n
