Feminist event bans Star of David<br \/>\n<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>David Rosenberg<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<hr style=\"background: #d0e6fa; width: 710px; height: 15px;\" \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/c.a7.org\/pictures\/766\/766227.jpg\" width=\"100%\" \/><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Israeli flagFlash 90<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>A month after an LGBT march expelled three Jewish women for carrying \u2018Jewish Pride\u2019 flags bearing the Star of David \u2013 a traditional Jewish symbol \u2013 a radical feminist march has announced its own ban on all symbols it deems \u201cZionist\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In June, three Jewish women were removed from the 21st annual Chicago Dyke March, after they waved flags organizers deemed to be excessively \u201cZionist\u201d. The flags in question were not the flag of the State of Israel, but rather included the rainbow flag design, an LGBT symbol, with the Star of David in the center.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">A member of the Dyke March collective told the Windy City Times that the Jewish symbols \u201cmade people feel unsafe,\u201d and clashed with the \u201canti-Zionist, pro-Palestinian\u201d character of the event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In a Facebook post, one of the marchers denied that the symbol was in anyway \u201cZionist\u201d, and was simply an expression of Jewish identity.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000080;\"> \u201cThe flags that \u2018triggered\u2019 people were NOT a flag of the modern state of Israel, they are PRIDE flags adorned with the star of David. The star of David is, first and foremost, a Jewish symbol, long before the modern state of Israel was even a thought. It\u2019s been a symbol of the Jewish people for centuries, and those marching put it on their flags to represent their intersectionality as LGTBQ+ JEWS. They were not using the dyke march to show support of Israel. They were not making a political statement regarding it. They were simply displaying who they are and that their religious faith is part of their identity. Removing those flags, and the people who marched with it, shows a deep level of ignorance, and yes, it also shows anti-Semitism masquerading as liberal values,\u201d the post said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Earlier this month, the organizers of the Dyke March again sparked controversy after they used an anti-Semitic slur popular with neo-Nazi groups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cZio tears replenish my electrolytes!\u201d the group wrote via Twitter. The term \u201cZio\u201d was popularized by ex-KKK leader David Duke and other white supremacists to disparage American Jews.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Now, a radical feminist group has adopted the Chicago Dyke March\u2019s ban, announcing it will not tolerate symbols it deems to be \u201cZionist\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Organizers of the Chicago SlutWalk declared their support for the Dyke March\u2019s targeting of Jewish symbols under the guise of anti-Zionism, saying that such symbols will not be permitted at the August 12th event, the Algemeiner reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWe still stand behind Dyke March Chicago\u2019s decision to remove the Zionist contingent from their event, &amp; we won\u2019t allow Zionist displays at ours,\u201d organizers tweeted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In recent years, radical feminists have promoted so-called \u201cslut walk\u201d events to combat what they describe as the \u201crape culture\u201d of the West. Participants in \u201cslut walks\u201d typically march in their underwear, holding placards or writing messages on their exposed skin denouncing \u201crape culture\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Slutwalk organizers on Twitter fired back at critics who chastised the Dyke March\u2019s behavior, claiming the three Jewish women had \u201cmade their Zionist beliefs known\u201d, and were thus legitimately removed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThey were kicked out after a discussion where they made their Zionist beliefs known and refused to back down.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Organizers appeared to suggest that the ban on Zionist symbols would, like the Dyke March\u2019s ban, not simple cover official Israeli flags, but the Star of David in general<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The star, they wrote, was banned \u201cbecause its connections to the oppression enacted by Israel is too strong for it to be neutrali &amp; IN CONTEXT it was used as a Zionist symbol.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<hr style=\"background: #d0e6fa; width: 710px; height: 15px;\" \/>\n<div id=\"content\" class=\" content-alignment&lt;br \/&gt;&lt;br \/&gt; \">\n<div id=\"watch-description\" class=\"yt-uix-button-panel\">\n<div id=\"watch-description-text\">\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"> twoje uwagi, linki, wlasne artykuly, lub wiadomosci przeslij do: <span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"mailto:webmaster@reunion68.com\">webmaster@reunion68.com<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr style=\"width: 710px;\" \/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Anti-Semitic feminism?
