British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn was called a \u201cliar\u201d during his speech at the UK Jewish Labour Movement\u2019s Hanukkah party on Wednesday, after he said there was \u201czero tolerance\u201d of antisemitism within the Labour Party, The Jewish Chronicle reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mr Corbyn told a crowded room at the party\u2019s headquarters in central London: \u201cI\u2019m here because I want the party to be strong in all areas, I want the Jewish Labour Movement to be absolutely part of and involved with the party at all levels.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to Mr Corbyn\u2019s speech, a plea had been made for all those in the room to treat each other in a comradely spirit. However, at this point a female heckler responded with the words: \u201cBut you hate us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Labour leader\u2019s speech, the same heckler shouted: \u201cCorbyn, you\u2019re a liar,\u201d before reportedly being removed from the room.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe issues of racism in our society are serious,\u201d Corbyn continued. \u201cThe issues of antisemitism are very, very serious indeed.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The British Labour Party has been dogged by claims of antisemitism among its members since the far-left Corbyn was elected leader in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere is zero tolerance of antisemtism in the Labour Party, and that is how it must remain,\u201d Corbyn went on to say, to applause. However, a male heckler then shouted: \u201cWhat about Ken?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ken Livingstone, a former mayor of London, was suspended from the Labour Party in April 2016 after making comments about \u201cHitler\u2026supporting Zionism, before he went mad.\u201d After almost a year-long suspension, the party\u2019s National Constitutional Council ruled that he would not be expelled from the party but merely suspended for another year. During his hearing, Mr Livingstone made further inflammatory comments about Nazism and Zionism, which have been contested by a number of serious historians.<\/span><\/p>\n
