Many people remain in the dark about the true nature of Zionism, relying instead on false soundbites which often promote a viciously anti-Israel agenda. <\/span>The word \u201cZionism\u201d has been turned into an insult, distorted and abused by anti-Israel zealots. Many people now view it as a word that represents oppression and subjugation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cZionist\u201d is also as a convenient synonym used by anti-Semites to mask their hatred for Jews. <\/span>But this isn\u2019t what Zionism is about, at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luke Akehurst, who serves as director of \u201cWe Believe in Israel\u201d and is not Jewish, explains what the word really means and why Jews and non-Jews alike should be proud to call themselves Zionists.<\/span><\/p>\n
