Wypowiedziane 17 lutego w Monachium s\u0142owa premiera Mateusza Morawieckiego o Zag\u0142adzie: \u201ebyli polscy zbrodniarze, tak samo jak byli \u017cydowscy zbrodniarze, rosyjscy, ukrai\u0144scy, nie tylko niemieccy\u201d oznaczaj\u0105 przekroczenie granicy, za kt\u00f3r\u0105 jest ju\u017c tylko ob\u0142\u0119d. Polscy sprawcy nie byli \u201etak samo\u201d jak niemieccy zbrodniarze : Zag\u0142ada by\u0142\u0105 zbrodni\u0105 niemieckiego pa\u0144stwa, w kt\u00f3rej uczestniczyli niestety tak\u017ce i Polacy, wystarczaj\u0105co liczni, by nie mo\u017cna by\u0142o zby\u0107 ich udzia\u0142u mianem \u201eindywidualnych przypadk\u00f3w\u201d. Nie daje to jednak prawa nikomu, w tym zw\u0142aszcza premierowi polskiego rz\u0105du, by wymienia\u0107 ich jednym tchem razem ze zbrodniarzami niemieckimi. Byli te\u017c sprawcy ukrai\u0144scy, tak\u017ce liczni, i dzia\u0142aj\u0105cy, inaczej ni\u017c Polacy, w zorganizowanych formacjach, ciesz\u0105cych si\u0119 poparciem cz\u0119\u015bci ukrai\u0144skiego spo\u0142ecze\u0144stwa, co nak\u0142ada na ich zbrodnie dodatkowe brzemi\u0119.<\/span><\/p>\n

Byli te\u017c sprawcy \u017cydowscy, funkcjonariusze policji gettowych czy niekt\u00f3rych Judenrat\u00f3w, jak i indywidualni zdrajcy. Inaczej ni\u017c zbrodniarze niemieccy, sprawcy ukrai\u0144scy i polscy, dzia\u0142ali oni pod presj\u0105 bezpo\u015bredniego terroru, w sytuacji podobnej to tej, w jakiej znajdowali si\u0119 wi\u0119\u017aniowie oboz\u00f3w koncentracyjnych. \u017badnemu granatowemu policjantowi polskiemu, inaczej ni\u017c policjantom gettowym, nie grozi\u0142a \u015bmier\u0107 rodziny za odmow\u0119 dostarczania \u017byd\u00f3w w r\u0119ce Niemc\u00f3w. Wymienianie ich, dzia\u0142aj\u0105cych pod najstraszliwszym przymusem, jednym tchem ze sprawcamii polskimi, ukrai\u0144skimi, czy zbrodniarzami niemieckimi, kt\u00f3rzy od pope\u0142nienia zbrodni mogli si\u0119 uchyli\u0107, jest dowodem moralnej \u015blepoty.<\/span><\/p>\n

Historycy wreszcie nie znaj\u0105 znacz\u0105cych przyk\u0142ad\u00f3w udzia\u0142u, zgodnie ze s\u0142owami premiera, Rosjan w Zag\u0142adzie. Je\u017celi za\u015b premier mia\u0142 na my\u015bli inne zbrodnie, istotnie pope\u0142nione przez Rosjan, to by oznacza\u0142o, \u017ce uwa\u017ca Zag\u0142ad\u0119 za zbrodni\u0119 jak ka\u017cda inna. W obu przypadkach mieliby\u015bmy do czynienia ze zdumiewaj\u0105c\u0105 historyczn\u0105 niewiedz\u0105.<\/span><\/p>\n

Wzywamy premiera, i innych polityk\u00f3w, do powstrzymania si\u0119 od dalszych nieprzemy\u015blanych wypowiedzi, kt\u00f3re stanowi\u0105c zaprzeczenie prawdy historycznej, kompromituj\u0105 ich osobi\u015bcie oraz instytucjonalnie.<\/span><\/p>\n

Statement of the Union of Jewish Communities in Poland in regards to the words of the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, spoken in Munich, on the 17th of February<\/span><\/p>\n

The words of the Polish Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki, spoken in Munich, on the 17th of February: \u201cthere were Polish criminals, there were Jewish criminals, Russian, Ukrainian, not only German\u201d, cross the line of common sense. The Polish perpetrators were not \u201cthe same\u201d as German perpetrators \u2013 Holocaust was a crime of a German State in which, unfortunately, Poles took part in such numbers that their participation cannot be considered as \u201cindividual cases\u201d. However, this does not give anyone, especially the Polish Prime Minister, the right to name them in one sentence along with Germans. There were also Ukrainians, also numerous and unlike Poles operating in organized formations supported by part of the Ukrainian society, which makes their crimes even greater.<\/span><\/p>\n

There were also Jewish criminals, Jewish Police in the Ghettos, or even some of the Judenrats, as well as individual perpetrators. Unlike Germans, Ukrainians or Poles, Jews acted under a threat of direct terror, in a situation similar to that of the prisoners of concentration camps. Unlike the Ghetto Police, Polish policemen were not threatened with death of their family for refusing to deliver Jews to the Germans. It is the sign of a moral blindness and historical ignorance to put those, who acted under the greatest duress in one sentence with Polish perpetrators or Ukrainian and German criminals.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Polish Prime Minister, historians do not know significant examples of Russian participation in the Holocaust. If the Prime Minister meant other crimes indeed committed by the Russians, it can suggest that he considers Holocaust to be a crime like any other. In both cases this would mean a surprising historical ignorance<\/span>.<\/p>\n

We are calling for the Prime Minister and other Polish politicians to refrain from further ill-considered statements, which deny the historical truth, and not only embarrass them, but also institutions they represent.<\/span><\/p>\n
