The Marxist-Leninist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist group is the \u201cmost ideologically clear organization in the Palestinian liberation movement,\u201d a Temple University Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) officer\u00a0wrote<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0on Thursday. The statement appeared in a column promoted and\u00a0linked<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0to by the group.<\/span><\/p>\n

It should be noted that the PFLP\u2019s\u00a0goal<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0is Israel\u2019s complete destruction.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PFLP rejects \u201cconcessions made by the Arab misleadership class, which has supported so-called \u2018peace\u2019 agreements with Israel,\u201d\u00a0wrote<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0Temple\u00a0SJP Vice President<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0Brandon Do. \u201cThese agreements have allowed the forces of occupation to extend deeper into Palestine and diminished chances of Palestinian liberation.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The PFLP rose to notoriety in the 1960s and 1970s through a series of airline hijackings, including the\u00a01976 hijacking<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0of a Paris-bound Air France flight, which was then flown to Entebbe, Uganda. In a legendary operation, the IDF stormed Entebbe airport and rescued the hostages.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PFLP was also\u00a0responsible<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>for a 1972 airport massacre that left 26 people dead. During the Second Intifada at the beginning of the century, several PFLP terrorists\u00a0committed<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>suicide bombings.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brandon Do has also supported PFLP terrorist Rasmea Odeh, who\u00a0played a key role<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0in a 1969 Jerusalem supermarket bombing that\u00a0killed two people<\/a>. A 2016 picture\u00a0posted<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0by the Temple SJP chapter shows Do holding a sign calling for charges against Odeh to be dropped.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his column, Do\u00a0praised<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0PFLP founder George Habash, who has\u00a0been called<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0the \u201cgodfather of Middle East terrorism\u201d as an authority for \u201craising the Arab world\u2019s consciousness\u201d against Israel. He also\u00a0attacked<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>Palestinians who he claimed \u201csell out\u201d their own people to Israel. The Palestinian Authority\u2019s establishment following the 1993 Oslo Accords, he says, created a \u201ccrypto-Zionist front.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Do\u2019s SJP chapter has also praised other PFLP terrorists,\u00a0including<\/a>Leila Khaled, who\u00a0hijacked<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0two planes in 1970. Khaled is currently a\u00a0member<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the PFLP\u2019s political bureau and has been\u00a0involved<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u00a0in fundraising for the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement. BDS\u00a0aims<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0to economically isolate Israel by encouraging the boycott of Israeli goods and divestment from the Israeli economy, as well as the imposition of sanctions. SJP is a\u00a0key component<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0of the BDS movement in the US.<\/span><\/p>\n

Do also\u00a0attempted<\/a>\u00a0to link black Americans with the Palestinian fight against Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBy embracing our shared destiny with Black America and those living under the degradation of imperialism worldwide, the Palestine solidarity movement in the United States will say that a free Palestine is possible, and that\u00a0with struggle<\/i>, we can restore humanity back to its rightful place, where the civilizations of the world are once again united and no longer living under the threat of invasion, partitioning, and mass exploitation,\u201d Do\u00a0wrote<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The PFLP has\u00a0repeatedly<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0drawn the same connection in articles on its website and it is\u00a0a tactic it hopes to use to destroy support for Israel in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n
