Two pro-Israel activists protested inside a major Students for Justice in Palestine conference held at UCLA over the weekend, where attendees chanted, \u201cLong live the intifada\u201d and carried tote bags calling for the annihilation of the Jewish state.<\/span><\/p>\n

The bags were emblazoned with the text \u201cMake Israel Palestine Again,\u201d endorsing the idea of destroying Israel and replacing it with a Palestinian state. One attendee proudly\u00a0posted an image on Instagram<\/a>\u00a0of<\/strong> <\/span>an SJP member holding one of the bags.<\/span><\/p>\n

Egged on by pro-Palestinian activist Mohammed Nabulsi, the attendees shouted a series of violent slogans, including \u201cFree Palestine,\u201d and, \u201cLong live the intifada,\u201d a reference to the ongoing terrorist war against Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese guys scream \u2018intifada\u2019 over here, and that\u2019s the murder of Jews,\u201d said Students Supporting Israel (SSI) leader Ilan Sinelnikov, one of the activists who was able to access the event, and who took to the stage with an Israeli flag. Another activist, Rudy Rochman, carried a sign saying, \u201cJews are indigenous to Judea.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey only talk about Palestinian suffering in order to use their suffering to attack Israel,\u201d Rochman said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve seen that throughout history, trying to make the Jews the source of evil, Jews the source of the problems, whether it\u2019s the black plague, the problems in the Inquisition, the problems in the Holocaust and the pogroms,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rochman noted that SJP did not seek coexistence or peace, and did not want dialogue with pro-Israel students, but rather sought only to spread its ideology \u201cin order to get people to the conclusion that we don\u2019t have the right to exist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The two pro-Israel activists were forcefully ejected from the auditorium, with one attendee shouting, \u201cGet the f**k out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to make sure that they see what a strong Jewish people and warriors should look like,\u201d said Sinelnikov.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prior to the event, SJP\u2019s largest annual gathering,\u00a0over 35,000 people signed a petition calling on UCLA<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>to cancel the conference. However, the university\u2019s 11-person Undergraduate Students Association Council (USAC) passed a measure early last week unanimously\u00a0affirming the right of SJP to host its national conference on campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

SJP did not immediately respond to\u00a0The Algemeiner<\/em>\u2018s requests for comment about the use of violent language at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n
