Text of Petition to UN Leadership<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

The following petition will be delivered on March 18th, right after the rally described below,\u00a0to\u00a0UN Human Rights Council President\u00a0Coly Seck and\u00a0UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We are outraged that on March 18, 2019, the UN Human Rights Council will launch an unprecedented assault on the rights of Israelis, and on the UN\u2019s own founding principles:<\/span><\/p>\n

The UNHRC will release the report of their one-sided Commission of Inquiry into Israel\u2019s \u201clarge-scale assault\u201d on \u201ccivilian\u201d Palestinian protesters at the Gaza border<\/span><\/p>\n

The UNHRC will release a report on their blacklist of companies who do business over the Green Line, a thinly veiled form of anti-Israel BDS (boycott, divestment and sanctions).<\/span><\/p>\n

The UNHRC will release another five reports singling out Israel \u2014 the only democracy in the Middle East \u2014 and yet none on gross abuses committed by China, Turkey, Cuba, and other of the world\u2019s worst regimes.<\/span><\/p>\n

All of this comes as the UNHRC, since its founding in 2006,\u00a0has adopted more resolutions against Israel than on Iran, Syria and North Korea combined; has convened more urgent sessions and inquiries on Israel than on any other country; and singles out Israel alone under a permanent agenda item et every session.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, at the UN General Assembly, Israel was targeted in 2018 by 21 one-sided resolutions, while there were a total of six on the rest of the world combined. There were\u00a0zero resolutions\u00a0on the human rights situation in China, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Cuba, Turkey, Pakistan, Vietnam, Algeria, or on 175 other countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enough is enough.\u00a0It\u2019s time for the UN to end its bigotry and prejudice.<\/span><\/p>\n

We urge you to show moral leadership by denouncing\u00a0the\u00a0UN’s relentless bias and demonization of the Jewish nation, and the betrayal of its own founding values.<\/span><\/p>\n

We urge you to uphold the UN’s founding principles of universality and equality, and to uphold the human rights of all.<\/span><\/p>\n
