Flyers described as \u201canti-Semitic in nature\u201d were posted on several Jewish institutions in\u00a0Indianapolis<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The flyers were discovered on Friday morning, according to local reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Indianapolis Jewish Community Relations Council said in a statement that the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was notified of the incident and that it had opened an investigation. The police are classifying it as a \u201cbias crime,\u201d according to the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Jewish institutions opened as usual and police provided additional patrols, according to the statement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jewish community in Indianapolis has well-established and open lines of communication with the Office of Homeland Security, IMPD, and the Marion County Sheriff. Organizations remain vigilant and responsible to all incidents regardless of severity,\u201d the statement also said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The statement and news report did not specify what about the flyers was anti-Semitic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The JCRC said that it has \u201cnoted an increase in anti-Semitism in the greater Indianapolis area.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In August, a\u00a0swastika was drawn<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>on the wall of a dorm room at the University of Indianapolis shared by twin Israeli sisters.<\/span><\/p>\n
