Amazon Prime Video released on Friday a short teaser trailer for \u201cHunters,\u201d a new series that stars Al Pacino as a hard-nosed Nazi hunter in the 1970s. The series is executive produced by Oscar-winner Jordan Peele.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is is not murder,\u201d says Pacino with a thick accent in the clip before his character is shown drawing an \u201cX\u201d through a photograph of a uniformed Nazi. \u201cThis is mitzvah.\u201d The video also shows various scenes of violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pacino plays Meyer Offerman, who joins a \u201crag-tag team of Nazi Hunters on their quest for righteous revenge in 1977 New York City,\u201d according to Amazon. The show\u2019s official description, reported<\/strong><\/span><\/a> by The Wrap<\/em>, explains, \u201cThe Hunters, as they\u2019re known, have discovered that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living among us and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the US. The eclectic team of Hunters will set out on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their new genocidal plans.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

This will be Pacino\u2019s first television role. The 10-episode series, which was originally titled \u201cThe Hunt,\u201d will premiere in 2020 and is inspired by true events, according to Deadline<\/strong><\/span>.<\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke told Deadline<\/em><\/a><\/strong><\/span> last year that the series is \u201cedge-of-your-seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
