B\u2019nai Brith said it wrote a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in January, protesting the incidents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

B\u2019nai B\u2019rith International<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0<\/a>condemned \u201congoing attacks\u201d against Jews in Chernivitsi, Ukraine in a\u00a0statement<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn a long and disturbing pattern of incidents, members of the B\u2019nai B\u2019rith Lodge in Chernivitsi, including lodge President Vadim Kolotushkin, have been physically assaulted and the lodge office was vandalized,\u201d the organization wrote.<\/span><\/p>\n

B\u2019nai Brith said it wrote a letter to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in January, protesting the incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSuch blatant public displays of antisemitism and xenophobia in defiance of public order are deeply troubling and must be forcefully opposed. B\u2019nai B\u2019rith International condemns in the strongest terms all such expressions of violence,\u201d the organization wrote in the letter.\u00a0 \u201cYour recognition of this event as a demonstration of the ideology of hatred will be an important rebuke. We urge the Ukraine government, under your leadership, to fully investigate the alleged attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

B\u2019nai B\u2019rith says Zelensky has yet to respond to the letter. In addition to the letter, B\u2019nai B\u2019rith representatives met with Embassy of\u00a0Ukraine<\/a>\u00a0in Washington, DC.<\/span><\/p>\n

The organization is calling on officials to secure the Jewish community of Chernivitsi and to investigate the attacks and hold the perpetrators responsible.<\/span><\/p>\n
