Photo: Reuters \/ Simon Dawson.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In a television appearance on Monday, UK Labour leader Keir Starmer defended his decision last week to&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.algemeiner.com\/2020\/06\/25\/uk-labour-leader-axes-top-party-official-for-sharing-article-promoting-antisemitic-conspiracy-theory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fire a top party official<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;who tweeted and praised an interview with a British actress who claimed that Israel was responsible for police brutality against minorities in the US \u2014 an assertion Starmer described as an \u201cantisemitic conspiracy theory.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In an interview on the \u201cGood Morning Britain\u201d program, Starmer referred to the ousting of Shadow Education Secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey, saying, \u201cI don\u2019t want the Labour party and antisemitism in the same sentence ever again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Under Starmer\u2019s predecessor, Jeremy Corbyn, Labour was plagued by antisemitism scandals, some involving Corbyn himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Starmer replaced Corbyn in April, in the aftermath of Labour\u2019s resounding electoral defeat last December.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Watch Starmer\u2019s \u201cGood Morning Britain\u201d remarks below:<\/span><\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Good Morning Britain @GMB<br \/>\n&#8216;I took the view that was antisemitic.
