You always want to know your enemy,\u201d Eden told&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><em><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/news\/tehran-producers-talk-appletv-debut-for-israeli-spy-drama-know-your-enemy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/span>. \u201cFor the Americans, Iran is the new villain.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The eight-episode show, co-created by \u201cFauda\u201d writer Moshe Zonder, stars Israeli actress Niv Sultan as Mossad computer hacker-agent Tamar Rabinyan, who goes undercover in Tehran to help destroy an Iranian nuclear reactor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">When her mission fails, she is forced to find refuge under her false identity as she is being pursued by Iranian security head Faraz Mehmet, played by Iranian-American actor Shaun Toub (\u201cCrash\u201d \u201cHomeland\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Fellow \u201cHomeland\u201d alum Navid Negahban plays Tamar\u2019s Mossad field commander.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cTehran\u201d was originally released by Israeli broadcaster&nbsp;<em>Kan<\/em>&nbsp;before Cineflix Rights secured the show\u2019s streaming distribution deal, according to&nbsp;<em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Julien Leroux, a consultant to Cineflix Rights and also a \u201cTehran\u201d executive producer, said, \u201cWe\u2019re trying to do with \u2018Tehran\u2019 what \u2018Fauda\u2019 did (for the Israeli-Palestine conflict), but with a Mossad agent in Iran. Since Iran is hot in the news, I was looking for a way to tell a story around that conflict.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">He added that \u201cTehran\u201d exposed the US-Iran conflict to broader audiences, noting, \u201cIt\u2019s not just those who read the New York Times that will get this show.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The show\u2019s Hebrew and Farsi dialogue also appeal to TV audiences in the US, Leroux explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cIts no barrier now. Languages are if anything providing another experience. We\u2019ve seen with \u2018Narcos,\u2019 in Spanish.
