The prime minister of Pakistan claimed in an interview over the weekend that \u201cIsrael\u2019s lobby\u201d in the United States controls  Middle East policy and is collaborating with India to boost his most prominent rival.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prime Minister Imran Khan told ARY News<\/em><\/span><\/a> that \u201cThe Israeli and Indian lobbies work together in America. Israel\u2019s lobby is the most powerful and that\u2019s why America\u2019s whole Middle East policy is controlled by Israel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Khan claimed that this Israel-India conspiracy is pressuring his government to give a National Reconciliation Ordinance \u2013 a grant of amnesty for various crimes \u2013 to his top rival Nawaz Sharif.<\/span><\/p>\n

Khan, a former cricket star, is the founder and head of Tehreek-e-Insaf, an Islamist political party that took power in 2018 and installed Khan as prime minister.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sharif, a former prime minister and wealthy businessman, is Khan\u2019s longtime opponent and the two men have conducted a public rivalry for almost a decade.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2018, Pakistan\u2019s supreme court banned Sharif from public office and he later received a 10-year prison sentence for corruption. A year later, he was released on bail and fled the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is this game? The game is to put pressure on Imran Khan,\u201d Khan said, referring to himself in the third person. \u201cBut they don\u2019t know that Imran Khan has learned one thing in his whole life and that is he doesn\u2019t take pressure.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey know I won\u2019t give them an NRO so now they are putting all the pressure on Pakistan\u2019s army and judiciary,\u201d he asserted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sharif\u2019s \u201cgod is money,\u201d Khan claimed, \u201cso to save it \u2026 he will join hands with the Indo-Israeli lobby.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Khan also claimed Israel is \u201cscared\u201d of Pakistan because of the strength of the Pakistani army.<\/span><\/p>\n
