\nThe members of American pop rock band Haim, comprised of three Jewish sisters, are still reeling from the shock of receiving a Grammy nomination this week for Album of the Year.<\/span><\/span>
\n<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The complete\u00a0list of nominations<\/a>\u00a0for the 2021 Grammy Awards was released on Tuesday and revealed that Haim\u2019s third album, \u201cWomen In Music Pt. III,\u201d was up for the prestigious award, while their single \u201cThe Steps\u201d earned a nomination for Best Rock Performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe did not expect even one nomination let alone two, let alone one in the top four categories,\u201d Alana Haim, 28, told\u00a0Billboard<\/em><\/a>\u00a0magazine. \u201cThe thing that\u2019s really blowing our minds the most is that we\u2019re three Jews from the valley. I keep refreshing the page being like, \u2018Is this really our record?\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Danielle Haim, 31, the band\u2019s lead vocalist who also co-produced the album, added that she and her sisters \u201creally put every last ounce of what we had within ourselves into this album \u2014 it was a labor of love.\u201d It\u2019s the band\u2019s most personal album, Alana explained, \u201cbecause we had so much to talk about,\u201d including post-tour depression, grief and health battles,\u201d she told\u00a0Billboard<\/em>. \u201cObviously it\u2019s great to be nominated for a Grammy, but really, this record was just us having therapy with ourselves.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLots and lots of therapy,\u201d added Este Haim, 34.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band from San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, earned their first Grammy nomination, for best new artist, at the 57th Grammy Awards following the 2013 release of their debut album \u201cDays Are Gone.\u201d Their second album, \u201cSomething to Tell You,\u201d was released in 2017, and like the first, hit the Billboard 200\u2019s top 10.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
