We apologize for the previous version\u2019s flippant tone and stereotypical characterizations of Jewish culture.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The article\u2019s original headline \u201cHow to Make Actually Good Hamantaschen\u201d was changed to \u201c5 Steps to Really Good Hamantaschen.\u201d&nbsp;<em>Bon Appetit&nbsp;<\/em>removed the sub-heading in which the article\u2019s non-Jewish writer said in \u201cfull disclosure\u201d that because she attended \u201croughly three Bar or Bat Mitzvahs a weekend during 1992\u201d and cooks professionally, she thought she could \u201cat least weigh in on the Jewish cookie department.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Among other things changed in the article\u2019s content was the description of the Jewish holiday of Purim. Writer Dawn Perry, who is also&nbsp;<em>Bon Appetit<\/em>\u2018s digital food editor, originally said \u201cThe story of Purim involves a bad guy, Haman, a nice Jewish lady, Esther, and her ultimate victory over his plot to destroy the Jewish people.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><em>Bon Appetit<\/em>&nbsp;also deleted six sentences about Perry\u2019s observation that Jews and non-Jews alike on the&nbsp;<em>BA<\/em>&nbsp;staff \u201ccould only call up childhood memories of dry and sandy hamantaschen that left your mouth coated with a weird film,\u201d and her desire to \u201cconvert the haters \u2026 To create a hamantaschen that we could all enjoy, regardless of religious upbringing or tainted Hebrew School memories.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The response seemed unnecessary to some Twitter users, who found nothing offensive in the article\u2019s original text or headline.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cWhat was supposed to offend me? I don\u2019t get it. I always liked the regular hamantaschen.
