Jewish organizations on Sunday marked the 27th anniversary of the bombing of a Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 1994 bombing of the Asociaci\u00f3n Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) was orchestrated by Iran and carried out by the terrorist group Hezbollah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite decades of efforts by the Jewish community, the terrorists involved have never been brought to justice.<\/span><\/p>\n

The six Iranian and Hezbollah operatives behind the attack have escaped arrest and prosecution, while investigating prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found murdered in 2015, before he was to unveil accusations of collusion between the governments of Argentina and Iran to cover up the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

B\u2019nai Brith International marked the anniversary, and\u00a0emphasized<\/a>, \u201cNo perpetrators have been held accountable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Pro-Israel lobby AIPAC concentrated on those perpetrators,\u00a0noting<\/a>\u00a0that the bombing was committed by Hezbollah \u201cat the instruction of Iran\u2019s top leadership.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIran continues to fund and promote terrorism around the world,\u201d they said.<\/span><\/p>\n

American Jewish Committee CEO David Harris\u00a0asked<\/a>, \u201c26 yrs later, who\u2019s been caught, tried & imprisoned? No one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJustice delayed is justice denied,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Michael Dickson, Executive Director of StandWithUs,\u00a0also noted<\/a>\u00a0the lack of accountability for the terrorists, and said the AMIA victims have been \u201cstruggling for justice ever since\u201d the bombing.<\/span><\/p>\n

The World Jewish Congress\u00a0said<\/a>\u00a0that it and the Congreso Jud\u00edo Latinoamericano, an umbrella organization for Latin American Jews, \u201care still leading efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

On Friday, the head of Argentina\u2019s umbrella Jewish group\u00a0lambasted the timing<\/a>\u00a0of a court hearing that was held as victims commemorated the anniversary of the attack.<\/span><\/p>\n

The hearing was scheduled for Vice President Cristina Fern\u00e1ndez de Kirchner to appear in an inquiry into a 2013 agreement her then-government had negotiated with Iran.<\/span><\/p>\n

Delegation of Argentine Israelite Associations (DAIA) head Jorge Knoblovits said the timing was \u201cunnecessarily confrontational and goes against the memory\u201d of the victims.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf the feelings of the victims of the greatest terrorist attack of the 20th century are disrespected, it is very difficult to reach justice and end impunity,\u201d he said. \u201cWe are very ashamed and very embarrassed that you cannot wait two, three weeks or a month to exercise the right of defense, which you can do so legitimately and constitutionally. But to do so today is offensive.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
