The soldier had also written a message for Ebert on the bank note: \u201cA start to a new life. Good luck and happiness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">During the coronavirus pandemic, her great-grandson, Dov Forman, shared a picture of the bank note on Twitter, hoping to find its original owner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Forman said on \u201c<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GMB\/status\/1432608835886256130\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Good Morning Britain<\/strong><\/span>\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;on Tuesday, \u201cI remembering joking with Lily that I\u2019ll find the soldier within 24 hours. I posted it and the tweet went viral, and it turned into an international hunt for the soldier. We managed to find him within eight hours. It was an incredibly special moment, to be able to reunite them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Forman added about the banknote, \u201cI realized how much value it had to Lily and everyone in the world because it shows the kindness that liberators gave to the survivors. And it gave Lily hope after she was liberated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The former soldier died in 2013 but Ebert spoke with his family in a video call, and called the reunion \u201ca miracle.\u201d She said, \u201cYou cannot explain with words what it meant, because something like that, I know it is not only for me, it is for the whole world, really. From this story you can [learn to] never, ever give up in life.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Ebert\u2019s memoir,&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.panmacmillan.com\/authors\/lily-ebert\/lilys-promise\/9781529073409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Lily\u2019s Promise: How I Survived Auschwitz and Found the Strength to Live,<\/strong><\/span>\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;is set to go on sale Thursday with a foreword written by Britain\u2019s Prince Charles. She&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GMB\/status\/1432606286613553154\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>told<\/strong><\/span><\/a>&nbsp;\u201cGood Morning Britain\u201d that she wrote the book to educate future generations about the Holocaust and explain to the world \u201cwhat can happen when we are not tolerant with each other; when we think somebody is worth more than somebody else.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cI promised myself if I survived [the Holocaust], I will tell the world what happened. And I kept my promise,\u201d she said, before sharing some words of wisdom. \u201cWe must know that all of us are the same. No one is superior to somebody else. [If] we learned this lesson, the world would be a much nicer place to live in \u2026 Be tolerant with each other, help each other and instead of killing, teach people to be good human beings.
