Everyone has their own list\u2026 but what about the&nbsp;<em>world<\/em>. Yes, the world. What should the world be looking forward to?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The Midrash teaches (Midrash Rabbah, Ba\u2019Midbar 1) that \u201cif the nations of the world realized the value of the Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash to all of humanity, they would surround it with their armies and guard it for the Jews!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In the book of Yeshayahu, there is an incredible prophecy; (Chapter 56, verse 7) \u201cMy House will be called a house of prayer&nbsp;<strong><em>for all nations<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d We say this passuk many times a year, before the beautiful prayer of \u201cShema Kolenu\u201d. We are stating,&nbsp;<strong><em>in very clear words<\/em><\/strong>, that the awesome place we want rebuilt \u2013 the holy Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash \u2013 is not&nbsp;<em>only<\/em>&nbsp;for the Jewish nation\u2026 but for the entire world as well!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">This is (or&nbsp;<em>should be<\/em>) the #1 item on \u201cThe world\u2019s wish list\u201d \u2026 for the Jews to return home and build the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;and final Temple in Jerusalem. There\u2019s only one problem. Not only is this not item #1, the world is doing everything they can to make sure it does&nbsp;<strong><em>not<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;happen at all.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Let me tell you about something that happened just 2 months ago. If not for Covid, this would have been the biggest story in the news. Unfortunately, it was&nbsp;<strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jewishpress.com\/news\/breaking-news\/un-adopts-three-resolutions-condemning-israel-ignores-jewish-ties-to-temple-mount\/2021\/12\/04\/\">not reported<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;in any major media outlet \u2013 on both sides of the political spectrum. Sorry, but we can\u2019t just blame this on CNN or Whoopi Goldberg. (However, it was reported in&nbsp;<strong><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jewishpress.com\/news\/breaking-news\/un-adopts-three-resolutions-condemning-israel-ignores-jewish-ties-to-temple-mount\/2021\/12\/04\/\">JewishPress.com<\/a><\/strong>)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The United Nations held a special vote on December 1, 2021, and here are the results:&nbsp;<strong>129 countries voted that Israel does not have any ties to the Temple Mount.<\/strong>&nbsp;Those same 129 countries affirmed that the Temple Mount is to be recognized only by its Muslim name, al-Haram al-Sharif.&nbsp; Obviously, those 129 countries failed history class because Islam was founded in the 7th Century \u2013 and the first Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash was built 1,400 years&nbsp;<em>before<\/em>&nbsp;that \u2013 but, as they say, don\u2019t confuse me with the facts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In case you are interested; who voted&nbsp;<em>against<\/em>&nbsp;this resolution that rewrites history? 11 countries including USA, Hungary and the Czech Republic\u2026 and who abstained? 31 countries including the United Kingdom, Kenya and Ukraine.&nbsp;(By the way, everyone\u2019s new best friend \u2013 and the one with the most exciting glatt kosher, mehadrin, kitniyot free Pesach program \u2013 the United Arab Emirates \u2013 voted in&nbsp;<em>support<\/em>&nbsp;of this bill. But I thought they loved us?? I\u2019m so confused\u2026)<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Now comes the important part of this article:&nbsp;<strong>Who do we blame?<\/strong>&nbsp;Whose fault is it that 129 countries voted this way? Allow me to be very clear with my answer; I don\u2019t blame&nbsp;<em>any<\/em>&nbsp;of the 129 countries. How can Bangladesh and South Africa feel that the Temple Mount is an integral part of the Jewish Nation\u2026&nbsp;<strong>if most of the Jewish Nation doesn\u2019t feel that way?&nbsp;<\/strong>70% of American Jews have never been to Israel even once in their life and have no desire to do so\u2026 so what do we expect from Cuba and Japan?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">But let\u2019s talk about the 30% who&nbsp;<em>do<\/em>&nbsp;come to Israel. Ask them what is the #1 holiest site in Israel today and I guarantee you that 98% will say \u201cthe Kotel\u201d. Why is that? Why won\u2019t we admit that the \u201cMakom Ha\u2019Mikdash\u201d \u2013 the place of the Temple \u2013 is the holiest, most special place for Jews\u2026 and all of mankind? Don\u2019t misunderstand me. I am not getting into the discussion of going up to Har Ha\u2019Bayit or not. I\u2019m simply trying to understand why this awesome place, described in our holy books as \u201cwhere Heaven kisses earth\u201d is not on most Jew\u2019s radar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">What happens within 24 hours of landing in Israel? You rush to the Kotel, then Caf\u00e9 Rimon in Mamilla. After that it\u2019s Machane Yehuda and Mea Shearim for some shopping, Aroma for coffee, back to the Kotel and then Papagaio for dinner. How many times have you stopped, looked at the desecration on the Temple Mount, and shed a tear? Do you think mourning over the destruction of the Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash is limited just to Tisha b\u2019Av?&nbsp;<strong>I have no problem with davening at the Kotel but at least feel bad that you are in the&nbsp;<em>garden<\/em>&nbsp;and not in the&nbsp;<em>palace<\/em>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The 129 countries of the world want you to remain in the garden. They want to disconnect you from your most cherished and special place. They want you to forget about it and simply sing it as a song; \u201cNext Year in Jerusalem\u2026\u201d Unfortunately, many of us have already done this and while we wouldn\u2019t actively vote with Iran or Indonesia, our actions tell a different story.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Dearest friends: stop blaming the world and start realizing that&nbsp;<strong><em>it\u2019s all about us<\/em><\/strong>. How do&nbsp;<em><u>we<\/u><\/em>&nbsp;feel about Har Ha\u2019Bayit? How connected are&nbsp;<em><u>we<\/u><\/em>&nbsp;to the Makom Ha\u2019Mikdash? How many of&nbsp;<em><u>us<\/u><\/em>&nbsp;can look at a drawing of the Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash and correctly identify many of the areas? We are now reading the Torah portions that deal with the Mishkan \u2013 which is a miniature Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash \u2013 and its&nbsp;<em>vital<\/em>&nbsp;we make those Torah portions real.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Don\u2019t let the 129 countries of the world win. Focus on the Bet Ha\u2019Mikdash and make sure you understand the connection between our Nation, our future, our destiny, and this great and awesome place.
