Photo: Reuters \/ Lucy Nicholson.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The tremendous growth that Netflix has achieved in just over two decades has been attributed to a culture that encourages outside-the-box thinking, so as to create \u201cempathy and understanding\u201d&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/about.netflix.com\/en\/inclusion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">through the stories the platform tells<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">If so, how is it that a senior executive at the streaming service has been allowed to go on an&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ynetnews.com\/culture\/article\/hjoasnzrc?utm_source=ynetnews.com&amp;utm_medium=Share&amp;utm_campaign=Twitter&amp;utm_term=hjoasnzrc&amp;utm_content=Article%20Top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">anti-Israel and anti-Zionist tirade<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;on social media, labeling the Jewish state as \u201cviolent, racist, colonial and apartheid,\u201d without being held to account?<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">According to a report that has to date only appeared in local Israeli media, Hala Gabriel, Production Finance Executive at Netflix, has commented about the \u201cdangers\u201d of supporting Israel, which she says was founded \u201cunder the auspice and claim that Russians and Europeans may have had some presence in Palestine thousands of years ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/honestreporting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/BJRswnzS9_2_0_463_193_0_large.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>(Capture: Twitter)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"post_content\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">In another post written under her Tantura Film Twitter account, Gabriel said: \u201c\u2018Israel\u2019 was founded on committing genocides and covering them up and twisting the facts. They continue the violation of Palestinian human rights in many forms until today. Amnesty defines Israel as practicing apartheid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"twitter-tweet twitter-tweet-rendered\">\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Gabriel, an American of Palestinian descent who grew up in Syria and the US, is also a&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0944970\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">production supervisor and production accountant<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;for several major studios in Los Angeles. An unfunded&nbsp;<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/thetechagents.in\/senior-netflix-govt-in-anti-israel-tirade-on-twit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">production of Gabriel\u2019s<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;was a documentary titled, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>\u201c<a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.therabbisintifada.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Rabbis\u2019 Intifada<\/a><\/strong><\/span>\u201d&nbsp;that \u201cfollows four [Neturei Karta] rabbis across the globe to find out why they support Palestinian liberation when most other rabbis won\u2019t.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Neturei Karta is a fringe group, consisting of a mere 5,000 members (0.03 percent of the worldwide Jewish population), who reject the existence of the State of Israel. Neturei Karta members believe that Jewish sovereignty in the Holy Land can only be established following the arrival of the Messiah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Despite their microscopic numbers, some of the world\u2019s leading anti-Zionists attempt to depict Neturei Karta as maintaining views that are representative of the Jewish people as a whole. This false impression makes it easier to claim that if \u201ceven Jews are against the existence of a Jewish state, why shouldn\u2019t I be?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Gabriel\u2019s social media comments call into question a crucial decision made by Netflix regarding its programming. In October of last year, Linda Sarsour<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lsarsour\/status\/1447305948310159360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tweeted<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;about Palestinian films and documentaries arriving on Netflix. She urged her<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lsarsour\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">325,000 followers<\/a><\/strong><\/span>&nbsp;to \u201clearn about the Palestinian experience.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Sounds innocuous enough, until one realizes that out of the 17&nbsp; films and documentaries advertised by Sarsour, the vast majority featured either a plot or subtext that was nakedly hostile to the existence of Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">And in contrast to many of the films and television series made in Israel that have very little to do with \u201cthe conflict\u201d or Palestinians, Netflix\u2019s selection of Palestinian films was focused on perpetuating the victimhood narrative.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Similar to Hala Gabriel, Linda Sarsour has a history of&nbsp;<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/honestreporting.com\/extreme-left-or-right-its-still-antisemitism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">e<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>choing the age-old antisemitic trope<\/strong><\/span><\/a>&nbsp;that Jews believe they are a \u201csuperior\u201d race.
