The PA has\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/breaking-news\/article-707804\">blamed the IDF for her death<\/a>. For reasons of mistrust the PA had\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/arab-israeli-conflict\/article-706666\">not wanted to transfer the bullet to Israeli<\/a>\u00a0so that it could perform ballistic tests to see if the bullet match one of the rifles used by soldiers at the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">On Saturday, less than two weeks before\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/middle-east\/article-710921\">US President Joe Biden is due to arrive<\/a>\u00a0in Israel, the PA relented and agreed to give to a US team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/images.jpost.com\/image\/upload\/f_auto,fl_lossy\/t_JD_ArticleMainImageFaceDetect\/505246\" width=\"100%\" \/><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><em>Shireen Abu Akleh (credit: AL JAZEERA)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Deputy Public Interior Minister Yoav Segalovitz (Yesh Atid) told army radio that it could take several days to conduct the necessary tests. He said that Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who heads his party, had been involved in securing an agreement to transfer the bullet.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">\u201cThe matter was concluded only last night,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote id=\"blockquote_cite_2f37e66c-5445-bd0d-6430-bbc6b96c60bf\" class=\"blockquote_cite center\"><p><b>\u201cthe examination won\u2019t be an American one, the examination will be an Israeli one with an American presence.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p><cite>Military spokesman Brigadier-General Ran Kochav<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"fake-br-for-article-body\"><\/div>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Who fired the bullet?<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The IDF had said Abu Akleh was killed during an exchange of fire between the IDF and Palestinian gunmen and that it was not possible to conclusively determine which of the two forces was responsible for her death<a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/arab-israeli-conflict\/article-706629\">\u00a0without the bullet.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Kochav said on Sunday,\u00a0\u201cwe are waiting for the [test] results.\u201d If they show \u201cwe killed her, then we will take responsibility.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0If the bullet \u201ccan be matched then it will be matched,\u201d Kochav said. \u201cIf we can\u2019t make a determination then there won\u2019t be a determination.
