Jewish actor Adam Sandler will star in and produce a film adaption of a 2005 young adult novel by Fiona Rosenbloom called \u201cYou Are SO Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!\u201d to air on Netflix, it was\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sandler\u2019s \u201cUncut Gems\u201d co-star Idina Menzel will also star in the comedic film, as well as \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d cast member Sarah Sherman, Luis Guzman, and Sandler\u2019s two daughters, Sunny and Sadie, and his wife, Jackie.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film from director Sammi Cohen and writer Alison Peck is about how \u201ca young girl\u2019s bat mitzvah plans comedically unravel and threaten to ruin one of the most important events of her young life.\u201d The project is currently in production.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adam will produce with Tim Herlihy through his production company Happy Madison, along with Leslie Morgenstein and Elysa Koplovitz Dutton for Alloy Entertainment. Barry Bernardi, Judit Maull and Kevin Grady will executive produce.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adam threw a bat mitzvah celebration for his 13-year-old daughter in May, featuring a star-studded guest list and a performance by Halsey \u2014 who afterwards said on \u201cThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\u201d that the party \u201cwas the craziest bat mitzvah I\u2019ve ever seen in my life \u2026 it was like Coachella.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
