Following outrage, Amazon has stopped selling two books by an author who praises Hitler and has accused Jews of “promoting and inciting war,” The Jewish Chronicle reported on Wednesday.

The online retailer has removed Thomas Dalton’s new book, Eternal Strangers: Critical Views of Jews and Judaism Through the Ages, which was released last week, and The Jewish Hand in the World Wars.

The synopsis of the latest book says “Jews are seen as pernicious, conniving, shifty liars; they harbor a deep-seated hatred of humanity; they are at once foolish and arrogant; they are socially disruptive and rebellious; they are ruthless exploiters and parasites; they are master criminals—the list goes on. The persistence of such comments is remarkable and strongly suggests that the cause for such animosity resides in the Jews themselves—in their attitudes, their values, their ethnic traits and their beliefs.”

The Jewish Hand in the World Wars accuses Jews of having “played an exceptionally active role in promoting and inciting war. With their long-notorious influence in government …actively inciting people to hatred.”

Dalton allegedly praises Hitler for developing “an unprecedented vision of national greatness.”

According to antisemitism researcher David Collier, the book says, “The path forward is quite narrow as Hitler understood … Jews must be identified, isolated, sanctioned and removed from positions of power.”

Amazon is currently reviewing Hitler on the Jews, another Dalton work available for sale on the site, a spokesperson told The Jewish Chronicle.

Zionism ‘Most Successful Project of the Past Century’

Popular Al Jazeera Talk Show Host Sets Off Firestorm by Claiming Zionism ‘Most Successful Project of the Past Century’

A major Arab media personality caused a storm of controversy over the weekend when he tweeted that Zionism is the “most successful project of the past century.”

The tweet was issued by Faisal al-Kasim, a pugnacious but widely admired host on the Qatari network Al Jazeera. A Druze born in Syria, al-Kasim runs the popular but also controversial talk show The Opposite Direction, and is often extremely critical of Arab and Islamic regimes in the Middle East.

He touched off the latest firestorm when he tweeted, “The majority of Arabs, if they want to insult you, describe you as ‘Zionist,’ knowing that the most successful project of the past century and the present is the Zionist project, while all projects of the Arabs, especially Arab nationalism, have failed.”

The remarks ignited a significant negative reaction. Ahmed Moussa, a popular Egyptian television personality, said, “Someone at the Israeli station Al Jazeera flattered Israel. Faisal al-Kasim showed us the true face of Al Jazeera — they are spokesmen for Israel.”

Al Jazeera is not an Israeli station and is often extremely negative in its coverage of the Jewish state.

“He fled Syria, there is a death sentence on him,” Moussa said of al-Kasim. “He belongs to terrorist organizations, to a Zionist station. He and Al Jazeera give us a headache.”In response to the attacks on him, al-Kasim issued another tweet, saying,

“I said in a previous tweet that the Zionist project succeeded, unlike the failed Arab projects, and many people retaliated and considered the tweet a kind of praise for the Zionists.”

“Ok, come to the referendum: Who are the most advanced, developed, democratic, and successful … Israel or the Arab regimes?” al-Kasim said, with a poll beneath for readers to vote on the issue.

The poll showed 81.7% of the respondents picked Israel.

In a following tweet, al-Kasim did take a negative view of Israel, though he continued his criticism of Arab attitudes toward it.

“There is no successful project throughout history except based on crimes and atrocities,” he wrote, “but people do not remember the skulls on which the major projects were based. America was based on the extermination of 108 million red Indians.”

“In short, history is not made by emotions and morals, but by strength, so possess it, Arabs, if you don’t want to be victims of the Zionist project and others,” al-Kasim added.

Later, al-Kasim expanded his poll of respondents, writing, “Many were annoyed when I said in a previous tweet that the Zionist project was the most successful project in the region. Before you get upset come to this referendum. Which of the following projects are most successful and powerful now?”

He listed “The Arab National Project,” “The Zionist Project,” and “The Islamic Project.”

The poll showed 70.5% of respondents voted for “The Zionist Project.”

In February 2018, al-Kasim also faced criticism for hosting Avichay Adraee, IDF spokesperson for Arabic Media, on his show.

A Star of David and the word “Jude” drawn with a black marker were found on Sunday morning in Turin on the front door of the apartment of Marcello Segre, a Jewish banker and the head of a local charity well known in the city, Italian media reported on Monday.

The incident marks the umpteenth similar episode in Italy in less than a month, with antisemitic writings defacing the doors or walls of houses belonging to Jewish families, former deportees, resistance fighters and their descendants.

“I called the police in tears. They asked me, ‘But do these things still happen in 2020?’ Obviously yes. It’s serious, 30 years have passed since such incidents were happening. At the beginning, I didn’t want to believe it. I thought of not saying anything publicly but then I decided it was better not to keep silent,” Segre told the Italian daily La Repubblica.

Segre also said that he was not afraid and that he felt the support of the city, including from Mayor Chiara Appennino and from the President of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio.

Asked if he was going to remove the graffiti, he said “I am thinking about it. Until someone forces me to do it, I won’t.”

On January 24, only three days ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day, which Italy marks with hundreds of initiatives at national as well as local level, graffiti reading “Juden Hier” (Jews here) was uncovered in the Piedmont city of Mondovì on the front door of the son of Lidia Rolfi, a partisan fighter deported to Ravensbruck.
Since then, swastikas and antisemitic insults have appeared on doors and walls all over the country.

Only one day before the Turin incident, on Saturday, a swastika was discovered on the house of Auschwitz survivor Arianna Szorenyi in a small town in the Friuli region.

On January 31, the annual report by the Italian research institute Eurispes found that more than 15% of Italians believe that the Holocaust never happened, marking an alarming rise since 2004, when such position was expressed only by 2.7% of the respondents.

The hit Israeli show “Fauda” will get a fourth season, its co-creator Avi Issacharoff announced on Wednesday at the English premiere of season 3 in Tel Aviv.

The screening was held at the Israeli Museum of Art, where the first two episodes of season 3 were shown with English subtitles, with the season set to begin streaming on Netflix in the spring.

Following the premiere there was a Q&A session with Issacharoff, where he elicited loud applause after revealing that the cast and crew was “working right now” on developing season 4 of the show.

“Fauda,” which debuted in 2015, is about a secretive Israeli security unit working undercover in the Palestinian territories.

Its first season centered on the hunt for a Palestinian terrorist thought to be dead while season 2 centered on ISIS. The past two seasons took place mostly in the West Bank but season 3, which is already on air in Hebrew on Israeli television, focuses on the Gaza Strip.

Issacharoff said at Wednesday’s event, “Some of the episodes that you are gonna see in the third season, I’m sure that it will remind you of things that really happened in reality.”

Season 3 of “Fauda” is expected to debut on Netflix in a few weeks after it finishes airing on Israeli television, which will happen in mid-March, according to i24News.

“Fauda” was ranked by The New York Times in December as one of the 30 best international television shows of the decade.
