Trzy miesiące prac społecznych za pomówienie prof. Jana Grabowskiego i przyrównanie jego książki do ekskrementów. Na taką karę skazał wczoraj sąd Tadeusza G. za artykuł opublikowany na portalu Fronda.pl.
Artykuł “Sieg heil, panie Grabowski, trzykrotne sieg heil!” pochodzi z czerwca zeszłego roku. Dotyczy recenzji, która ukazała się na łamach niemieckiej gazety “Die Welt” opisującej książkę prof. Jana Grabowskiego “Judenjagd. Polowanie na Żydów 1942-1945. Studium dziejów pewnego powiatu”. Autor, polski historyk z uniwersytetu w Ottawie specjalizujący się w tematyce Holocaustu, opisał w niej ostatnią fazę zagłady ludności żydowskiej w powiecie Dąbrowa Górnicza. Część książki poświęcona jest roli, jaką w tej zagładzie odegrali Polacy.

Tadeusz G. książki nie czytał. Oparł się jedynie na artykule z “Die Welt” oraz recenzji Jana Żaryna. Na tej podstawie napisał krótki tekst, w którym ostrzegł czytelników przed książką Grabowskiego, porównując ją do ekskrementów, i zasugerował, że praca profesora była sponsorowana przez niemiecką fundację. Całość została zilustrowana zdjęciem z wizerunkiem Josepha Goebbelsa, ministra propagandy III Rzeszy.

Grabowski poczuł się dotknięty. W sądzie złożył prywatny akt oskarżenia, w którym zarzucił Tadeuszowi G. m.in. pomówienie i narażenie na szwank jego autorytetu zawodowego i zaufania do niego jako naukowca.

Sąd uznał wczoraj winę publicysty portalu Fronda.pl. Tadeusz G. został skazany na trzy miesiące prac społecznych (po 20 godzin miesięcznie). Będzie też musiał zapłacić 3 tys. zł nawiązki Stowarzyszeniu Dzieci Holocaustu i pokryć koszty sądowe. Wyrok decyzją sądu zostanie też podany do publicznej wiadomości, choć na razie nie wiadomo, w jaki sposób.

– Wolność wypowiedzi prasy ma charakter fundamentalny – zaznaczyła w uzasadnieniu wyroku sędzia, ale od razu zastrzegła: – Prawo dziennikarza do krytyki nie jest nieograniczone. Nie może być traktowane jako prawo do stawiania gołosłownych, niesprawdzonych zarzutów godzących w dobra osobiste innych osób, nie może przerodzić się w prawo do formułowania inwektyw i pomówień – podkreśliła sędzia. Zdaniem sądu już sam tytuł artykułu może być upokarzający.

Mec. Krzysztof Stępiński, który pro bono reprezentował w sądzie prof. Grabowskiego, wnosił o rok prac społecznych. Z wyroku jest jednak zadowolony. – Chodziło przede wszystkim o uznanie winy. Czy oskarżony będzie społecznie sprzątał ulice przez trzy czy przez 12 miesięcy jest mniej istotne – powiedział po wyroku.

Dlaczego zdecydował się na proces karny, a nie cywilny o naruszenie dóbr osobistych? – Przestępstwo było oczywiste. Poza tym procedura karna jest krótsza – odpowiedział adwokat. Wyrok jest nieprawomocny. Pełnomocnik Tadeusza G. zapowiedział apelację.

Former Top Israeli Security Official Says Obama Administration’s Push to Set International Drone Strike Guidelines Threatens Global Anti-Terrorism Efforts

A new Obama administration initiative to establish international guidelines for drone strikes poses a danger to global anti-terrorism efforts, a former top Israeli security official told Defense News on Thursday.

“If the modern Western world wants to continue to fight terrorism in the future, this capability is essential,” Major General Yaakov Amidror, who served as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s national security adviser from 2011 to 2013, was quoted as saying by Defense News. “From a professional point of view, it’s important to understand there is no substitute for this capability.”

According to Defense News, Israeli officials and experts view the US plan as “diplomatically dubious, practically unenforceable and potentially crippling to a critical sector of Israel’s defense industrial base.”

Amidror added that there would be “minimal” benefits to setting a common set of drone strike guidelines without the involvement of China, Iran and Russia.

The goal of the US initiative, being led by the State Department, is to “bring nations that export armed unmanned systems under the same guidelines that US firms have operated under since February 2015,” the Defense News report said.

The report cited Israeli experts as warning that, without Iranian participation in the guidelines, terrorist groups like Hezbollah would continue receiving drone strike systems.

Also, the experts said, Israeli and Western manufacturers of such systems would face a competitive disadvantage if China and Russia did not adhere to the guidelines.

“There’s no vacuum in the field of military exports in general and of armed drones in particular,” Tal Inbar, head of UAV and Space Programs at Israel’s Fisher Institute for Strategic Air and Space Studies, was quoted as saying. “The limitations the US has imposed on itself are what led to the rise of Chinese strike UAVs in the world.”

Furthermore, Inbar noted, “This seems to be a futile effort given the fact that the horses have already left the stable. Today, almost every country that produces its own UAVs has tried to add some kind of offensive weaponry, either based on real need or for prestige.”

He continued: “And let’s not forget that the US is the number one country that produces and uses these types of drones… I wonder why the Obama administration is pushing this now, since the number of unmanned attacks during his two terms went sky high.”

One unnamed Israeli defense industry executive told Defense News he believed the Israeli government would likely not “overtly refuse” to take part in the US initiative, but expressed hope that it would “drag its feet” until a new president takes office in January.

“[W]e should try to let the clock run out,” the executive was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, Reuters reported on Friday that, after years of delay due to Israeli opposition, the Obama administration is set to approve the sale of $7 billion worth of Boeing fighter jets to Qatar and Kuwait.

According to the report, Israel has tried to block the sale due to its concern that the jets might be used against the Jewish state in the future.

The report said the administration could start notifying congressional lawmakers of the sale “as early as next week.”

Israeli Poland guides on Łopuchowo incident

Following the incident the Israeli Poland guides association approched Senior Officials in the Ministry of Education requesting a public condemnation of the event and to have an enquiry of the incident.

“The flag left in Łopuchowo forest bearing the inscription “Death to the left” took the Polish journey slogan- “I am seeking for my brothers” in to the abyss. As partners to the educational process underlying idea of sending youth delegations to Poland and instilling values of respect for human beings, we see this event seriously, together with a series of other unusual events that occur, unfortunately, during visiting Poland.

It is clear that the event marks a failure of the choosing process of the participants attending the event, their preparation for the journey, the messages they recieved during the journey, understanding the essence of the trip and its objectives and supervision of staff and members of the delegation to prevent such an event.

We ask for a thorough investigation un order to find the one responssible for this event and, if necessary, after studying the issue also punishment and publication. Only sunlight (advertising shameful acts and measures taken in consequence thereof) will reduce the unacceptable phenomena of this kind.

The event cannot remain , We believe, without any response from the Ministry of Education. We, Poland guides, expect the highest levels in the ministry of education to condemn the event publicly and by massages to school principals, youth organizations and delegations managers declaration that it will not act.”
